So, this morning i am searching for stuff and DuckDuckGo informs me:
Unfortunately, bots use DuckDuckGo too. Please complete the following challenge to confirm this search was made by a human.
And now I can't search for anything.
Good job DuckDuckJoke
You have absorbed by the collective
Hello Yandex.com
Try Brave Search as well.
Maybe you were using DuckDuckBot ,LOL
1. What time does a duck wake up in the morning?
At the quack of dawn.
2. What happens when a duck flies upside down?
It quacks up.
3. What do you call a clever duck?
A wise quacker.
DuckDuckGone...............
All search engines give you a pile of propaganda these days
“ And now I can’t search for anything.”
********************************************
You didn’t even say what you searched for that sent you off.
Typed in:
“insults against Reagan through the years”
Not really. I was just searching for the poetry of a 16th century French poet and all the links were sensible. You just can’t search for anything that liberals have strong opinions about. I’m guessing they couldn’t care less about long dead French poets.
I find it frustrating that when I use Duck Duck Go or even while I'm using Brave, virtually all the results of a search are the "crap" websites I'd never pay any attention to---CNN, MSNBC, BBC, VOX, etc. All the libtard garbage and nothing reliable. To find reliable sources, you really have to dig. Is that an indication that Duck Duck Go has been taken over by the libtards?
Is that you, Andie MacDowell?
I just tried this in Qwant with no problems.
I as well as others have mentioned Elon Musk needs to buy up one of the search engines.
Popular search engines are now designed to reply with answers that
- maximize advertising revenue
- ranked by popularity of criteria of what others search
YOUR search criteria now have less rank, in that DEI collective, unless you somehow figure a way to do an advanced search.
I use the Brave browser, but what do people think of the Brave search engine?
Francois Villon comes to mind, even though he was a century earlier - he was the first French writer to capture my interest in French, after countless school year trying to learn it.
Luxxie also
I think the plan is for you to rely on ai answers only with no way to check yourself
Were you using a VPN? Often bots come from similar ip addresses and the remedy for these is the human confirmation.
Vendome, you probably already know everything else I am about to write.
This is more for any FR readers that it may help.
You also probably know this —> Yandex.com is Russian.
It can be good, but we have no control over what it presents and how it tracks you. Russian seems practically synonymous with hacker. And so does Ukrainian, so any persuasion of former USSR bears watching online, no Zeeperistic or anti-Zeeperistic issues are being raised here!
Largely the same thing is true with any websites especially search engines that you use all the time. YouTube. Amazon. Etc.
DuckDuckGo.com (DDG), which I do use a lot, basically uses Google to do the search but they have some method they use to supposedly prevent tracking and retention of what you search. DDG can still can steer you to what they want you do see first even if they do not track.
Who knows the best answer?
I use the brave browser so I probably should use Brave Search more, and maybe will now, but it is not in use for me much now.
Bing.com can be pretty good. I am usually on PCs, so I figure Microsoft probably knows it all anyway, jerks. I use it and their AI when I am having trouble with DDG.
There are tons more, it is probably best to mix it up even including Yandex.com at times, and even Google.com. Do anything you can to reduce the “profiling” that these sites can do to know who you are even is you use a VPN. Brave browser helps. I don’t like Edge. Chrome I do not trust. Firefox is OK, but Brave probably reduces profiling more. Extensions are needed on both, but when used they can help you get profiles.
I am not a big fan of Apple but I do use their stuff too. The interface is even more dumbed down than Win 11. HOWEVER, Apple is very privacy oriented, and Safari which can be annoying has become really good about reducing profiling and protecting privacy. Use it for sure (and others at times too) if you have an Apple computer.
And important:
I see people ALL THE TIME who do not use a bookmark or shortcut or just type in where they want to go.
Instead especially if their browser pops up already with a search engine, they just type where they already want to go into the search engine!
Basically the search for where they want to go instead of just going there. Google or DDG or Bing or the Russians get to know where you are going and when. And they could misdirect you to a trick site where you would enter passwords, etc. If you use Yandex right now do not make that mistake.
Even their BANKS, Credit Card site, you name it. Even FreeRepublic.com.
Why let a search engine know your bank name and when and where you go to it online? Why let them know your frequently visited political sites?
Learn to make bookmarks and shortcuts to the sites you use all the time!
Wow, this got long.
Life is a lot less simple that we all would like it to be.
May we all really get to journey back a simpler country and world where jerks like George “Emperor Palpitine” Soros lose all their Star Wars (and Bond Villain) evil forces.
Pray and Work and if needed, Fight!
