Modern-day grave robbers in Texas have seized unclaimed bodies belonging to veterans and sold their limbs for profit without the consent or knowledge from their grieving family members.
Victor Carl Honey, 58, a dedicated Army veteran, who struggled with mental illness, died in September 2022 of heart failure.
Honey was among the 2,350 people whose remains were sent to the body donation program at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort-Worth.
However, a month after his death, the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Officer deemed Honey's body 'unclaimed' after they said phones for relatives were disconnected even though his ex-wife and two adult children were living in the state.
Honey's body was kept in a freezer before it was cut up and shipped piecemeal across the country.
His torso was sold to a medical education company for $900; his right leg shipped to a Swedish medical device manufacturer for $341; the bones from his skull were sent to the U.S. Army for $210 for military training purposes.
During NBC News' bombshell investigation, it was also revealed that Honey's corpse was not the only one sold to science in the Dallas-Fort-Worth region; hundreds of other corpses were collected from nursing homes, hospital beds and homeless encampments - and sold on the open market.
Honey's body parts were also sent to medical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies including Johnson & Johnson, Boston Scientific and Medtronic - used for scientific research and the testing of new products.
According to the report, once the medical groups and others were finished using the unclaimed bodies' remains, they were cremated, buried or scattered at sea - despite some families still looking for their loved ones.

Oh my God.
don’t expect anything to change. when half your country vote for democrats, something is deeply wrong already.
Em…awful. But their families were apparently not grieving
“But their families were apparently not grieving”
sounds like because they were never contacted which would have giving them the change to grieve
While the selling of body parts is an odd twist, the state’s handling of the “unclaimed” is pretty common.
Saw an article year’s ago concerning NYC Hart Island where the indigent are buried. Since NYC insists on burial in a fairly quick time, there have been a lot of cases of people’s spouses or what not buried in the mass graves there because a contact could not be reached.
“They will make merchandise of you . . .”
2 Peter 2:3
See also Planned Parenthood’s baby parts, fetal growth media and adrenochrome businesses.
Well, at least they weren’t cats and pond ducks |s
During the Covid scam a lot of people could have been sold as unclaimed. No visiting no gathering for funerals and such. Dollars already being paid for cases reported and even more for reporting a death. We The People actually had a wanted dead bounty on US. And it wasn’t pistolaroes that were after US.
I think this was a sub-plot from the original “Max Headroom” show. There was a lively (ahem) trade in human body parts.
The morgue manager at Harvard stole and sold body parts.
Harvard has a morgue?
Did they bring back dueling, or what?
Their medical school has a morgue and many people donate their bodies for medical research. The manager and his wife apparently sold the bodies. I’m not sure how they ever caught them.
Kinda makes one consider cremation.
OMG!!!! EVIL!!!
So selling body parts of dead veterans is appalling but Planned Parenthood selling baby parts is permissible.
We Catholics are plan these things out. Get a grave. Buy it. Maintain a relationship with one’s family. If you’re gone for a few days someone makes an wffort to find you. 30 days? That’s a long time. If we have everything paid out and insurance with a will and instructions then it’s no more than a day off for the relatives and associates. Throw in hors d oevres and a Bloody Mary and people will claim you
Cremation or no cremation
Of course this government and the medical industry is going to sell an unclaimed body.
These are the people that set repeat murderers free. This medical industry is pro abortion and they thrive on sick people
Bullshit horror story. The families didn’t claim the bodies, probably to avoid the cost of burial. Now some ambulance chasing shysters are going to make money on the same bodies.
This is BS.
“Veterans’” (plural possessive) in the headline, and only one veteran mentioned. No indication of systematic targeting of veterans.
Then you get down towards the bottom, and it’s revealed: majority are black, homeless with mental issues. In other words, no one is coming looking for their body.
Want to avoid this? Have a good church family that faithfully preaches the gospel.
That is SO insane!
