Mayor Adams’ ambitious rezoning proposal he calls the “City of Yes” — aimed at encouraging new housing construction throughout the five boroughs — is filled with commonsense ideas such as permitting apartments to be built above storefronts and relaxing the expensive requirements for new parking. Adams, in many ways, is harkening back to the golden age of pre-zoning when row homes and brownstones sprouted across the city in the hundreds of thousands. Only in New York would the idea that increased housing supply is the best way to meet increased demand be controversial.

Increased demand?......unless they mean illegals that’s not what I’m hearing.
The homeless already have tents. So what’s the problem?
“a “roommates” law makes it illegal “for more than three unrelated persons occupying a dwelling unit and maintaining a common household.””
bizarre
I assumed the recent graduates who wanted to experience the big city were sharing apartments with more than that.
Yeah, it’s called the sidewalk.
Ask a landlord that question, I dare ya.
Might seem like a good idea if you got an empty room above your store, but what if you end up with squatters that turn your place into a crack house or a wh*rehouse or flophouse filled with dozens of their friends and relatives that won't pay and won't leave? The city put them there, do you think they'll help you get them out?
Illegals first in line.
No,no no…you’ve got it backwards. Americans and veterans own tents, illegal invaders own homes.
This law is largely ignored I have friends in Brooklyn, Bushwick for those who actually know The City. They have tenth controlled 4 bedroom with parking that they inherited from their parents there is four couples living there none of them related. I use their parking all the time when I’m in the area they love that I bring a rental for all to use it’s my “rent” payment when I stay with them. They have a loft with bunk beds in it for guests perfect for a guy who just needs a shower and a crash pad.
The whole roommate law is as stupid as Lubbock Texas brothel law from the 1800s where you cannot have two or more unrelated females living in a rental unit regardless of number of bedrooms or sq foot size. Equally stupid in a college town. Oh and WREAK’EM TECH!! Sun’s up guns up...
Grrr auto correct
Tenth= rent controlled
So that's why our friends on the sitcom "Friends" paired off as roommates two at a time...
