They’ve seized a central rail road hub and can watch Russia’s logistical trains move in real time, as well as stop any supplies and troops along the line they control. Which means Russian troops in Donbas will have supply problems.

(It also looks like Russia is being forced to redeploy troops and supplies, which detracts from efforts and apparently relieves the Ukrainians in other areas.)

This has to be humiliating for Russia. Kursk was the site of the largest tank battle in WW2(July 6-7,1943) and the Russians barely won it. It's something deep in the Russian soul and now it's in Uke hands. History repeats itself in strange ways.
