Bride-To-Be Can't Believe Fiance's Question 4 Days Before Wedding
Newweek ^ | Aug 01, 2024 | Maria Morava

There's a lot to juggle while planning a wedding—and apparently, some details are easier than others to retain.

A video posted to TikTok by Adriana Thomas (@adrianaleighthomas) has gone viral for revealing the shocking question a man asked his fiancé four days before their wedding: what time it begins. Since the video was posted, it has received 2.4 million views and over 300,000 likes.

"Our wedding is in four days, and he just asked me what time it starts," Thomas captioned the video. "I wish I was him."

In other videos, Thomas has documented other aspects of her relationship. A viral video from 2022 revealed that she and her now-husband were together in high school, but went through a few breakups before committing to each other for life.

"Growing up together takes some effort," she wrote. "No matter how wrong we got it the first time, getting it right this time is all that matters."

It seems they did get it right in the end, too—the couple got married on June 22, signifying that everyone got to the ceremony on time.

What Did the Comments Say?

Believe it or not, memory and timeliness are touch-and-go for many grooms, according to the comments.

"I bought my husband a pocket watch with the time engraved on it, we got married two years ago and he still doesn't know how what time we got married," @mollyhullan wrote.

"My boyfriend would 100 percent do this, and probably ask me what to wear," @riynn.mangum wrote.

"I have our wedding invite card under my socks...once a year I pull it out to remind myself when our anniversary is," @firefighterwyn wrote.

"I had to keep asking, I think it was down to nerves!" @theausomedownsyndromsdad wrote. "I could remember everything else, but the time I couldn't.

Why would he know? It's none of his business, until he has to show up.

LOL! Had she previously informed him of that detail?

From what I’ve seen lately, the bride and her friends plan the entire thing, dismiss any wishes from the groom, and balk at anything that interferes with the selected scheme. Besides, they had probably changed the time 3 or 4 times in the past few months, so how was he to know what time had finally been selected?

She’s a narcissist who makes herself a victim over tiny things.

Absolutely brilliant ... as well as accurate and very entertaining.

My husband when asked what year we got married will always name two years prior. But he can tell you precisely how many years we have been married.

Once asked him about that and he said, "That was when we should have been married."

What’s the problem? His job is to show up. He’s planning to show up. Plenty of time in advance, too

BTW I’m a girl. Married. Long line of upper middle class New York suburban. Catholic.

This made me think of a typical Dave Barry wedding column.

Wedding season is again upon us, and you brides-to-be are busy as bees, finalizing arrangements for your dress, flowers, catering, clergyperson, shower-curtain-pattern selection, eyebrow-tweezing appointment and the 17 million other details that make planning a modern wedding far more complex than building a space station.

Meanwhile, you grooms, for your part, have been entrusted with the responsibility of locating a pair of dark socks.

I never had this issue.

My husband and I went to a bridal consultant (excellent decision).

We made all the choices together. Location, food, invitations, DJ versus band, colors, his church, my priest, vows, length of ceremony, guest list, everything.

It wasn’t my wedding, it was our wedding.

Exactly- she’s probably a bridezilla who commandeered every aspect of the wedding planning, and now she’s complaining he wasn’t involved to the point of not knowing what time the wedding starts. LOL

Yep.

That was when we met. I remember it as meeting a nice guy who became part of my friends group. He remembers it as the day he fell in love with a girl who's attention he kept trying to get and who seemed oblivious.

Sometimes I am not very bright.

Thankfully he still loves me.

First marriage, woke up late for work. Called and let them know we would be late. Went by courthouse got license stop and got rings, got married at lunch time by guy we worked with in the lunch room.

Second time. Got license went to jail and got married by the magistrate.

My wife and I eloped, kind of.

She was still in the IDF. She’s Sephardic. Her parents didn’t approve of her marrying an American, let alone an Ashkenazi. My parents couldn’t afford the trip to Israel. I was stationed in Iraq (US Army).

So we basically had her IDF Rabbi (Orthodox Ashkenazi), the IDF outdoor “chapel”, her IDF unit, a bunch of my Army buddies (generally not Jewish), two British nurses attached to our unit, and a couple of cousins from both sides of the family.

Best man was a Lutheran door gunner who was completely freaked out.

Worked out great. 30 years, so far.

That is me. I always mix up 26 Nov (her birthday) with 29 Nov (our wedding) over the years. Slam in Thanksgiving on the 25th and it just didn’t seem fair. To compensate I always surprise so in April wvery year I get her a gift, and or a vacation trip.

“I wish I was him”

It’s your day, honey. Be thankful he’s being considerate enough to make sure he’s there when he needs to be.

"Our wedding is in four days, and he just asked me what time it starts," Thomas captioned the video. "I wish I was him."

That tells me that he wanted to know what time his wedding was going to be.   No more and no less.

I really wouldn’t worry about that question. If he’d asked who he was marrying, different thing...
