Perhaps refraining from trying to start three world wars at the same time would be a better option for DC.

I have finally concluded that war is an unavoidable feature of humanity. I guess I have arrived.

The fact is, if the United States hopes to deter or defeat a Chinese attack on Taiwan, it should be prepared to effectively implement a draft. To be clear, this is a solution of last resort, but one that may be necessary.

Any politicians who support this should be prepared to face a recall election and/or lose their seat during the election cycle. That’ll be the least of their worries as rioting (and support for rioting) will be quite high.

"Conscription — a practice most Americans believe should be relegated to the dustbin of history — has returned as an uncomfortable topic of conversation among U.S. allies and adversaries alike."Why wait. Just "conscript" yourself.

I, for one, am happy to die for Victoria Nuland, Anthony Blinken, and Hunter Biden.

There is no possibility of a draft, and any attempt would fail.

Study history.
They tend to reserve the word ‘war’ more for aggression between nation states, but if you include territorial warlords all the way down to village tribalism in that category, the times of greatest peace are experience by those who are strongest and all their neighbors know it, and is an exception, not a rule.

There is zero possibility of a US-China war over Taiwan.

never studied history. that didn’t prevent me from concluding, long ago, that “peace is a spoil of war.” as you say, a rare one.

"war is an unavoidable feature of humanity"
I agree however, war is easy for man, it is easier to make war than to conquer hunger, cloth the needy, shelter those without shelter. War only requires killing, helping our fellow man requires compassion, love and understanding, something I feel that a large part of the world has forgotten.
War in unavoidable and inevitable and it will be the end of mankind.

If we need the draft, we should be conscripting the best and the brightest.
I propose we start with everyone in our prestigious Ivy League Universities and the Blood Relatives of EVERY Elected Official in this Country.

If China invades Taiwan and my sons are conscripted to protect them, I can assure you that all three of us will be hunting down commies. But they won't be the ones in Beijing.
Nobody that I love will be conscripted as a slave to fight for the Globohomo Empire. It's not happening. That is a hill I will die on.

If the cause is Just and the people support the war action, a draft isn’t necessary.

No draft. Drone swarm. I saw it in a movie once. Seriously they need to plan for the future battlefield front lines which will be waged by machines not men.

Click bait drama hyperbole.
If we are “attacked” by China or Russia it would escalate faster than a fat ass Command Sergeant Major from Minnesota could roll himself over to the cabinet to pull out the plan.
Our military might recall people from the IRR, but they have no need for Gen Z malcontents.
If that happens, the war is already over.

With these politicians these days? They’d sell us off in a heartbeat.
Let the liberals/media/illegals who voted for dear uncle Joe be drafted first, leave the rest of us out of it. But you know exactly who they want to thin off...

Too often, when good guys have tried to "conquer hunger, clothe the needy, shelter those without shelter" the aid is stolen by bad guys and never gets to the needy.
