That means Shapiro’s announcement will be timed when PA sends out ballots. We can wipe PA off the Trump train. Trump’s only chances again are MI and WI, both with unfavorable fundamentals to him compared to PA. VA/NM/NH are out of reach I think at this stage. Again, this is not about November, like a lot here are thinking. This is about September 7 or so. The election will be decided then.

True statements. But nothing is impossible (except maybe Trump winning New Mexico, among the states you mentioned), just not particularly likely.

If the Rust Belt is gone, then Trump must sweep Arizona, Georgia and (oh boy) Nevada, and then find some other state otherwise he maxes out at 268 electoral votes — or a 269-269 tie if he can take back that one little EV in Nebraska which he lacked last time.

Obviously the Democrats know all of this too. If they see it shaking out exactly this way, watch how many millions of dollars worth of Democrat ads run in Omaha, Nebraska and tiny little New Hampshire. Hopefully Trump and the RNC won’t be just sitting around with their thumbs up their asses when that happens. And there’s nothing saying they must give up on MI, WI, PA regardless of how small their chances are.

But, for Republicans at least, there’s only so much money to go around. WinRed are a bunch of pikers compared to the highly efficient (and not altogether legal) Democrat money laundry called ActBlue, which is only now finally beginning to get some scrutiny.
