In the company where I worked before I retired there was a black lady who was promoted way over where she should be—and she ended up on an executive committee that made key decisions.
She was one vote out of five or six.
She never had any comment on anything proposed to the committee.
She always waited to vote until a majority had decided the matter and then she said two words:
“I concur.”
Nobody criticized her publicly—but “I concur” became an inside joke in the company. It was short-hand for “I have no clue what you are talking about....”
