The FBI's director has cast doubt on whether Donald Trump was struck by a bullet during the attempt on his life at a Pennsylvania political rally.
Christopher Wray was updating Congress about the assassination attempt on Trump in Butler on Wednesday when he made the explosive statement.
'With respect to former President Trump, there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear,' Wray said.
'I don't know right now whether that bullet, in addition to causing the grazing, could have landed somewhere else.'
Wray was addressing security failures that allowed gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks to open fire. Crooks, 20, killed firefighter Corey Comperatore, 50, and injured two others including Trump during the shooting.
The presidential hopeful has since given extensive accounts of the moment he was shot and was seen sporting a bandage over his ear.

That comment will come back to haunt Wray horribly when trump is elected, trump will take the very personally. No one is almost assassinated and would take kindly to such a careless comment.

I am not trying to support the FBI director in any way.
But I did question: Who was it behind Trump that got hit by the bullet that nicked his ear??? Anyone??
Shrapnel, from what source? Th only nearby physical object was the teleprompter, which was undamaged.
Never in the history of the FBI has the Director insinuated that a shooting victim was injured by something other than a bullet.
If it was 130 yds DLOS, why would there be ‘shrapnel?’ Comment of Wray’s goes in the same basket as Cheatle’s “sloped roof” explanation.

let me help. There was one DOA and two critically wounded victims behind Trump. On the roof 130 years away was a dead assassin with the rifle and 8 spent cartridge casings.

Well, I will inform you. Bullets don’t take right angle turns anywhere other than in the Warren Commission report.
There were eight bullets whizzing by, and you claim to know which bullet hit which person?
Not to mention that photo of the bullet, using high shutter speed, that whizzed behind Trump’s head.
IOW , PDJT being shot at is like a ‘meh’, he didn’t die so.... Perhaps wray wouldn’t mind something passing his ear at approx 3,000 fps +/-. Just sayin’....
