Nah, the Stones "Gimme Shelter" is the song of the 60's.
Have fun it's Friday.

Day in the life is a great choice for no 1 off a ground breaking album. All of the beatles manned pianos for the closing chord.

No, I heard it Through the Grapevine.

"A Day In The Life" certainly belongs at or near the top of the list.
But how did they compile a Top 100 list like this and leave off "Whipping Post" by the Allman Brothers?

This is an easy one — there wasn’t any good music in the 60s. ;-p

Nope, Like a Rolling Stone is the best tune of the 60s.

All the Beatle’s songs!
They were on the Ed Sullivan Show when I was in grade school and I thought they were the coolest thing I had ever seen.
(Could have been influenced by my babysitter that night who couldn’t stop screaming!)

Anything from CCR, the Stones Paint it Black, Cream, Procul Harem, Jethro Tull, Ohio by Crosby,Stills, Nash and Young, Animals "House of the Rising Sun", Grace Slick White Rabbit and some of these may be early 70s like A Horse with No Name (it's a shame they didn't give that horse a name)

LZ came along around 1969. Still before my time.

I would almost nominate “Nights In White Satin” for a top spot because it bridged musical elements of the early 60s with the late 60s. Sinatra or Nate King Cole could have crooned it and the Beatles could have mixed and orchestrated it. Its contemplative moodiness, dynamics, bridge, and romance captured the feelings of that entire decade.

My favorite is, I Can’t Stop Loving You by Count Basie, the last big band song to chart.

Crummy list. It seems to be one man’s opinion based on one man’s opinion.

Gee, no mention of “Help!” or Nowhere Man.
Both far superior to any other listed Beatles song.

Way before my time, though I heard a lot of it in the nursery. First tune that comes to mind, upon seeing the post title, is “Telstar.” It actually had lyrics, when it was called “Magic Star,” but not in the same league as the instrumental.
