Democrats are facing two crucial questions: (1) Keep Joe or dump Joe; and (2) in the event of the latter, do you bump Vice President Kamala Harris to the top of the ticket or hold an open convention?
Most conversations between Democrats never get past these two questions. Instead, they dissolve into shouts of “You don’t know!” “Well, you don’t know either!” But if two Democrats could somehow agree that Harris should lead the ticket, the obvious follow-up question is: Who would be the best choice for vice president
But most governors relish their jobs as CEOs of their states. When Biden secured the nomination in 2020, he invited Michigan Gov. Whitmer to meet him in Delaware for vetting. According to Whitmer, Biden asked her, “Why do you want to be vice president?” She told HOUR Detroit Magazine that her response was, “Joe, I’m here because you asked me to be here. I love my job. I love being in Michigan. There’s nowhere else I want to go…”

They need someone on that ticket who could distract from Harris. A big name that would take most of the attention away form the fact that a functional moron is at the top of the ticket.
They don’t need someone leaving the voters asking “who?”

I believe the Dems have mentally accepted that they have lost this election and now the questions are:
- How do we lose without appearing weak
- How do we prevent losses down ticket
- Who will take the fall for this election

If they want someone who can effectively debate with Vance, they would choose Jim McGovern, who’s been cutting his teeth on House floor debates over the last few sessions.
If they want someone who isn’t Hillary who can bring in votes, they would choose some well-known entertainment person with leftist bona fides; Mark Hamill comes to mind, but there’s probably a better choice.

I suppose it depends on what is meant by “hero”. They had one, an American version of Gavrilo Princip (Archduke Ferdinand’s assassin), a young idiot willing to throw his life away for fame and politics. No Democrat can win, period, if they had someone so good they could step in at the last second and pull off a win, they would have run them in the first place instead of The Potato.
Secondly any Democrat who truly thinks they can win the presidency is not going to step in and be slimed and weighed down by the Potato and the excrement tied to him.
Anyone who truly wants the White House and thinks they have a legitimate shot at it will not run now and wait until 2028. So that leaves you with Harris who can never win an election and knows it, so if she wants to be president her only shot would be Biden quitting before Jan 2024… so she could say I’ll run as long as Biden leaves now.. that way she secures herself as the first female
President without ever winning .. and it’s the only way she would ever be president… The other option is some loyal back bencher who knows they can’t wind and never is going to be president but is willing to step up to be the sacrificial cow just to try to keep the base solid to prevent a down ballot massacre, someone like that would do it for the right price.
That’s it. No “A Tier” candidate is going to soil themselves in Biden’s excrement and waist their shot on this race.
