While the “Epoch of Reionization” sounds like the title of a sci-fi novel destined for a Hugo award, this very real era of the universe featured the first light from the very first stars. Before this epoch, the universe was nothing more than a dark void filled with a fog of primordial hydrogen gas—and then, suddenly, there was light.
For decades, scientists have searched for a source of radiation powerful enough to have cleared away this fog and introduced light into the universe. Now, an international team of scientists have analyzed the first faintest galaxies ...

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

The CMBR was technically the first light, even though it had redshifted to below human visibility by this time.

I got my pre-supposition in this hand, and my telescope in my other hand.
We’ve not found either the center or the edges of this universe thing yet.

I think the story out of the Bible tells it all. It just takes some people a long time to believe that information. The exact methods used is not explained of course, but just know that God says he caused it to be. If a person can believe that, then it goes a long way toward making the rest of the marvelous creation story believable. Disbelieve it & little else in the Bible will make sense.

This is from “Popular Mechanics:? - sounds more like something one would find in “Popular Quantum Mechanics”.

Years ago I went to a presentation in which the presenter was spewing some New Age crap about how the Light of Heaven was seen behind the Horsehead Nebula.
It was kind of entertaining, a little humorous, but in the end all the guy wanted was donations. I don’t remember much of it, and I do wish now that I had kept his slick brochure. I did NOT contribute any dollars to his cause…

I think the story out of the Bible tells it all. No ... it tells "Who" and "why". Doesn't say a word about "how".
"How" is the realm of the natural sciences.
