That is the question of the day. That and why did there just happen to be a ladder there to get on the roof?
Where is it definitively stated that there was a ladder?
I have also heard he walked into the 2 story AGR bldg which has an access door leading to the 1 story adjoining bldg where he took the shot....

And how did this guy know how to get up there? Didn't he live about 60 miles away?
Think about that...you get short notice to be on a roof, in a town 60 miles away. How would he know where to go, how would he know where the ladder is. How would he know it isn't guarded?
Go to a commercial building near you, now get on the roof. Yeah, not possible. Somehow this doofus knew. Game it out, pick a town an hour away and go get on a roof. It won't happen. It's simply not possible without insider information.
It’d be really creepy in a Lee-Harvey-Oswald way if he knew about the access because he worked there.

The AP story says a local cop climbed the ladder, encountered the shooter, and then retreated when the gunman pointed the firearm at him. After that the shooter fired on the President. So, there definitely was a ladder.

Agreed—blatant conspiracy—imho almost certainly Deep State.
Now the Mockingbird Media coverup begins.
The coverup will not just be Democrats and the usual mass media suspects. It will also be establishment conservative folks like National Review and almost all Republican members of Congress.
It is called “full spectrum dominance”.

We really can’t take anything the AP says as definitely true.

Those ladders aren’t light and they’re unwieldy to handle unless you are used to them. The shooter didn’t look to be muscular enough to handle one very efficiently. Just his trying to get the ladder up and in place should have drawn attention.
Also, where did he get the ladder. They said he drove a car and I can’t see him bringing it with him. Heck those ladders are about too much for a standard pickup.
Was the ladder on site? How did he know it was there? How did he move it from where it was stored to the side of the building without being noticed. I just don’t see how this was a “one guy” job.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro on Sunday identified the rallygoer who was killed as Corey Comperatore, a former fire chief from the area, and said he “died a hero.”
“His wife shared with me that he dove on his family to protect them,” Shapiro said. He declined to discuss the condition of two others who were wounded.
The FBI identified the shooter as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, which is about 50 miles (80 kilometers) from the scene of the shooting. An FBI official said investigators had not yet determined a motive.
Secret Service agents fatally shot Crooks. The gunman attacked from an elevated position outside the rally venue at a farm show in Butler, the agency said.
Not long before shots rang out, rallygoers noticed a man climbing to the roof of a nearby building and warned local police, according to two law enforcement officials.
One local police officer climbed to the roof and encountered Crooks, who pointed his rifle at the officer. The officer retreated down the ladder, and Crooks quickly took a shot toward Trump, and that’s when Secret Service snipers shot him, said the officials, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.
The officials also told AP that bomb-making materials were found inside Crooks’ vehicle, and bomb-making materials were found at his home. Officials described the devices as “rudimentary.”
Investigators believe the weapon Crooks used was purchased by his father at least six months ago, the law enforcement officials said. Federal agents were still working to understand when and how his son obtained the gun and to gather additional information about Crooks, according to the officials.
On Sunday, the FBI said they believe Crooks acted alone and that he was not previously on the bureau’s radar. The agency is combing through his social media feeds and the shooter’s weapons but so far has not found any threatening writing or social media posts, officials said.
Some building have service ladders but you need a step ladder to get up to it and they’re generally locked/blocked. Other than that, you’re a contractor and bring your own extension ladder and you don’t leave your $300 extension ladder behind.
That and a final sweep by the SS should have caught it as a big red flag. Personally, I think SS should have already been camped out on that roof or even a few cops visible on the corners of the roof with shotguns or rifles as a visual deterrence.
So simple, even a Korean store owner knows to do that.
I’m curious about the ladder, too. I suppose there might be a fire escape or an access one for HVAC or other maintenance.
Ok, Thanks. So many theories and statements out there.
Now curious if it was a portable extension ladder or a permanent ladder attached to the bldg. If it was permanent, it should have been guarded closely.
And the bigger question is we’re the counter snipers under a don’t shoot first order?
