Not just that... There are certain songs that just don’t sound right without a Ricky somewhere in the mix. Apart from the obvious examples that everyone knows, one of the ones I always go to from my earliest adulthood is: “’Til I Am Myself Again” by Blue Rodeo. One of those songs that the Ricky just makes it pop, IMO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKcZsBLS17U

Imho, the electric guitar is what made Rock N Roll really take off like wildfire. Les Paul and Leo Fender made it even better, but Rickenbacker started it.

You should read Winston Groom’s book , THE AVIATORS. He skillfully enter twines the biographies of Eddie Rickenbacker, Charles Lindbergh, and Jimmy Doolittle. Amazingly, all three lived to ripe old ages. Rickenbaker was the all around nicest guy and had the most brushes with death.

Geddy Lee used to play a Rickenbacker bass.
Chris Squire of Yes did, too.
To: Disambiguator
Yes, but I’m not a huge fan of either. I just listed the guitarists I like - I’m sort of elitist like that. ; )

Hey - do any of you guys (or girls) own a Rickenbacker?
I only have acoustics: Yamaha, Fender, and a Seagull.

Yes, a Rick 370-12 in FireGlo
Beautiful instrument, but I'm not too keen on the 3 pickups,
the rear combines with the middle and sounds too dense.

No, I don’t, but I would sure like to add one to my collection. I’ve got a Gibson Les Paul Classic, a Fender Strat and a Fender Jazzmaster Geddy Lee bass in electric. Most of my collection is like you, accoustic. Now if I could only become good enough to be worthy of playing such fine instruments!
