Footage shows the moment a Mercedes driver slapped a boy with autism for bending the car's hood ornament.

The unidentified motorist is seen smacking ten-year-old Alfredo Morales seconds after surveying the damage Monday, which would cost around $500 to fix.

The car itself costs just north of $146,000, and was purchased just over a year ago from a dealership in Southern California, a vehicle history report shows.

The filmed attack took place at Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Osbourne Street in Pacoima, according to KTLA. The man's license plate was shared by the person behind the camera afterwards.

In the footage, the boy's Spanish-speaking sister tells the sunglass-clad driver 'sorry, [my brother] is autistic' - after which he slaps the boy and walks off. A police report has been filed by the boy's family.

The network identified the boy as 10-year-old Morales, and confirmed from his family has autism.

'Sorry, he is autistic', the woman is heard saying in the original clip, captured on a cellphone. 'He has special needs.'

The man, not swayed, proceeds to move towards the siblings, as the woman is seen trying to simultaneously calm the boy and plead his case.

Within seconds, the man is standing over the two, and quickly cocks his hand back to hit him. He strikes the boy's face with an open palm, before sternly pointing his finger at the now-cowering youngster

The kid was just sitting there laughing about it too.

He slapped that smile right off his face.

Now call ICE on them

‘Sorry, he is autistic’, ‘He has special needs.’

The victim gave him his “special needs”, alright.

Well deserved slap.

Too bad it’s against the law to beat somebody else’s kid. A responsible parent would do it on your behalf.

Autism to me at least seems one of the most vague conditions in medicine. If you go through the symptoms almost everyone could be autistic. Here are the first two paragraphs in wiki about it.

Autism, also called autism spectrum disorder[a] (ASD) or autism spectrum condition (ASC),[10] is a neurodevelopmental disorder marked by deficits in reciprocal social communication and the presence of restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior. Other common signs include difficulty with social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication, along with perseverative interests, stereotypic body movements, rigid routines, and hyper- or hyporeactivity to sensory input. Autism is clinically regarded as a spectrum disorder, meaning that it can manifest very differently in each person. For example, some are nonspeaking, while others have proficient spoken language. Because of this, there is wide variation in the support needs of people across the autism spectrum.

Psychiatry has traditionally classified autism as a mental disorder, but the autism rights movement (and an increasing number of researchers) see autistic people as part of humanity’s natural neurodiversity.[11][12] From this point of view, autistic people may also be diagnosed with a disability of some sort, but that disability may be rooted in the systemic structures of a society rather than in the person;[13] thus, proponents argue that autistic people should be accommodated rather than cured.[14] The neurodiversity perspective has led to significant controversy among those who are autistic and advocates, practitioners, and charities.[15][16]

Good for the driver. The boy needs to be committed to a sanitarium.

My son is on the spectrum.

He never went around damaging people’s property.

He/we were still accountable for his actions.

If anyone said, “I’m sorry, we will pay to fix it,” this would have ended differently.

High functioning autistic people can be quiet geniuses.

Whatever they hyperfocus on, they can excel at: particularly music, computers, and science. Just don’t ask them to do customer service.

Their brains work very differently.

There is a spot for them in society and, given the right conditions, they can make great contributions.

Low functioning autistic people will always need outside care.

Autism anymore is just an excuse parents use not to discipline their children. You hear them say “oh he has autism” and the parents do nothing about their child’s bad behavior.

I watched that video, that kid was laughing his ass off until he got his comeuppance. He knew darn well what he was doing.

I can’t get the video to load. Does it really show the man slapping the boy? Was it a pat on the cheek? I’m not saying one thing one way or another, but I can’t tell if I was a slap or a pat. A still photo does no good, other than to show that the man touched the boy.

Daily Man has so much advertising and non stop videos that aren’t part of the story. It often stops to reload. It’s very difficult to maneuver on that website.

“If anyone said, “I’m sorry, we will pay to fix it,” this would have ended differently.”

I quite agree with you. Problem is they never do. They always make the “he’s autistic” excuse like that makes bad behavior okay and we are just suppose to accept it.

I have tried at least a dozen times. Not worth it. I’ll have to take others’ word for what happened.

If you go through the symptoms almost everyone could be autistic.

That's why they call it a "spectrum". Everybody is on it. If 10 year old "me" were in school today, 10 year old "me" would probably be saddled with a "diagnosis" of some sort.

The hell with it all.

He never slaps the kid if a man is there as guardian.

He looks like the typical leftist entitled millionaire that believes he can put hands on someone else’s children.

The more kids that are on the “spectrum” in schools the more federal money the schools get. That is why you see a lot more kids that are “autistic”. Remember Michael Savage? Yea most are not. Most are brats that need to be told to cut the act.

Ask any parent of an autistic kid from decades ago. You had to jump through hoops when getting your kid tested for autism. Now it’s done and determined in one office visit.

Now the problem is, the ones who really are don’t get the help they need. The resources are being spread too thin and the ones who really need help don’t get enough or any help so they fall through the cracks.

I’m sick of “bystanders” filming property destruction, assault, etc. rather than intervening to stop the damage.

My question is, in what way did the boy “bend” the hood ornament? Those ornaments are swivel-mounted and spring-loaded, so that if it gets bumped it flexes to the side and then flips right back to its “home” position. I think the boy merely touched it, which he should not have done. But I also suspect the owner is an arrogant bleep who demands that we swoon over his ride, but God forbid anyone touch it. In reality, that ornament ATTRACTS the attention of any normal kid and practically entices him to give it a closer look and a touch. JMHO.

“Those ornaments are swivel-mounted and spring-loaded”

I thought the same thing. Maybe they’re made in China now.
