A suspected drunk driver has been arrested after mowing down two cyclists on a road near Dallas Fort Worth airport.
Benjamin Hylander, 31, is accused of ramming his white Subaru SUV into the back of Cynthia, 68, and Thomas Geppert, 69.
Shocking video showed the vehicle slamming into the back of Cynthia before driving over Thomas after knocking him to the ground.
The incident took place on Monday and was shared on X, formerly Twitter, by a user who confirmed the driver did not stop to aid the victims.
The video shows two cyclists riding side by side in the inside lane of the freeway.
Suddenly the Subaru emerges in the distance and is seen barreling towards them.
The vehicle continues to bomb down the road before ramming into the back of one of the cyclist, knocking them into the road.
The car then swerves and clips the back wheel of the other cyclist, sending him sprawling to the floor.
The vehicle then speeds over his limp body with first the front then back wheel, crushing the man into the ground.
As the clip ends the car is seen speeding off in the outside lane.

"Obviously the driver should be arrested but there’s absolutely no excuse for cyclists taking up an entire lane when there are only two, whether it’s legal or not. Ride single file on the side of the road. Share the road applies to cyclists as well."
I was thinking the same thing.
*cough* no comment.
Well, what the heck does Subaru have to do with it? Why is it even mentioned?
He was in a SUV, that is the point. SUV against spandax and you know who’s gonna win.
I cycled for many years, and lost three friends, none of whom hogged lanes or rode like idiots. Just idiot drivers who weren’t paying attention.
Strange incident. Alchohol was involved so there’s that.
Texas is 1 of 11 states where it IS legal to ride on the interstate; including Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, & Utah.

Six (opened?) cans of Voodoo Ranger Beer were found in the driver’s car by police.
Just because it is doesn’t mean one should.
For the record what is the speed limit on that road? Or any interstate in Texas?
In my state it varies from 55mph to 70mph. By the time a driver would stop after hitting a cyclist he would be in the next county.
Only idiots bike on roads where 4000# vehicles are going 70 mph.

If someone is depending on drivers for their safety, it’s a bad plan.
Drivers are checking Facebook, Instagram, and texting.
Poor guy. What were those idiots doing on the road like that? I vote not guilty. That accident was not caused by alcohol, it was caused by idiots on children’s points playing on the freeway.
I'm sorry for your loss. With so many distractions (cellphones, texting, clicking on the radio, etc), and generally worse driving compared to days of yore (less illegal drivers, better driver training, etc) its very dangerous to be cycling on roads shared with cars.
A white Subaru SUV, you say?
Back to horses, Delete heat storing highways.
If people want to ride bicycles in traffic lanes with vehicles weighing 4000 pounds and traveling at high speeds, with some drivers drunk, they should expect to get hurt or killed.
“its very dangerous to be cycling on roads shared with cars.”
I see it more and more, even when a sidewalk is available!
Idiocracy.
THIS ^^^^^^^^^ If they weren't so old I'd invoke Darwin's Law.
“If people want to ride bicycles in traffic lanes with vehicles weighing 4000 pounds and traveling at high speeds, with some drivers drunk, they should expect to get hurt or killed.”
Exactly! The stupid, it burns!
