You are generally correct, but did not extend thought into what is inexorable.
There doesn’t have to be an answer. It can all fail. All problems don’t have solutions.
Nihilism is ascendant because mathematics is inescapable.
Perhaps the mathematics is daunting because we have indulged nihilism.
Nihilism and its handmaiden cynicism are the inevitable byproducts of hubris.
In other words, we are not in need of reform but of salvation.
It's time for a national come to Jesus moment- ok a secular epiphany, if that is less offputting.
Meanwhile as conservatives, ours is but to soldier on.
