Splash Mountain was originally based on Song of the South , but also took surprising inspiration from Ron Howard's Splash .

When are Tom Hanks and Ron Howard going to be canceled by leftist elite?
Tom Hanks sang "Zippity Doo-DaH" in the Ron Howard directed Disney movie, "Splash", released in 1984

I’ve always been uncomfortable by the sex scene in the early Tom Hanks movie Big.

Splash was not a very good movie. I only watched it for Daryl Hannah. 🙃

Uncomfortable? Big? That's quite a stretch...
I never saw the movie...

If it is a "Saving Private Ryan" ride, I am going to pass.

In
Big, since Tom Hanks is really still a boy who looks like a man, any sex scene involving him could be considered pedophilia.
I generally liked the movie and wish that Hanks had stuck with comedies. Could never view him as a serious dramatic actor.

Splash was the first Touchstone movie. They created a new spin-off company so that any racy material couldn't be directly tied back to Disney.
I still remember the first scene where John Candy is running up excitedly to tell Hanks that his Penthouse Letter got published: I was a Teenage Lesbian.
Truly silly.

Splash Mountain has been cancelled.
It’s been replaced by the Tiana Ride, which is basically a dark flume ride done on the cheap, with no theme and few of the charming animatronics that made Splash Mountain so good. A handful of TV screens showing scenes. No discernible plot.
I was on there on the soft opening day, quite by accident.
Even putting aside the wokeness of it all, it just sucked.

I liken that scene in BIG to the age inappropriate scene in Stephen King’s IT involving all the your protagonist cast. Would not be made today.

Tom Hanks got his indulgences when he allowed himself to be beat down as a racist white man, who needs to “just shut up,” by Oprah. I don’t think he has done much since that.
Ron Howard. That’s an enigma. I don’t know how he stays out of the woke cross hairs. Maybe he has enough allies in Hollywood that he can destroy entire studios and careers if they go after him.

The movie Big is partly biographical of Michael Rockefeller/Tom Hanks
Think:
- Zoltar (ancient mystic age-change-wish facilitator, adrenochrome)
- Hanks (7/9/56) - Michael Rockefeller (5/18/38) = 18 years
- back and forth between a 12 year-old > 30 year-old > 12 year-old
- coincidence of pedophilic (age-inappropriate) inclinations (uncomfortable sex scene Tell It Right noted)
Hanks could readily seem himself in both younger and older roles, 18 years apart.
Earlier in 2024, Hanks' son Chet confided to a group of acquaintances that his dad is actually a lot older than he supposedly is.

I had the same feeling with the original "Back to the Future" when the teenage future Mrs. McFly had a crush on her own son, and was being too friendly (at first) in the car with him.

Apollo 13 might also be a problem. Although the start might be thrilling, most people would probably not want to spend more than half the ride sitting in a cold, dark car.
