LOPBURI, Thailand (AP) — A Thai town, run ragged by its ever-growing population of marauding wild monkeys, launched an offensive against the simian raiders on Friday, using trickery and ripe tropical fruit.
Several high-profile cases of monkey-human conflict recently convinced authorities in Lopburi in central Thailand that they had to reduce the animals’ numbers.
If all goes well, most will end up behind bars, before starting a new life elsewhere.

I was about to say all the monkeys would have to do is rebrand themselves as Antifa and it would be clear sailing.
Must. Resist. Temptation.
Thailand?
5.56 NATO ball will do wonders if they choose to do so!
I can hear the voice of Charlton Heston right now “the bastards went and really did it “ if I have it wrong I hope someone gets the reference
Too easy
Close enough...I got it. “Damn them all to hell!”
Was stationed at an air base not too far from there in 1972. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korat_Royal_Thai_Air_Force_Base
Many marauding monkeys make much misery meddling and moping morosely in Massachusetts.
Good luck with that.
Shoot them instead.
Went there for Operation Cobra Gold in the mid-90’s. Those monkey were everywhere then, and we were told not to mess with them because the locals believed the souls of lost loved ones existed in the monkeys, or they were reincarnated as monkeys are something like that.
1 did in my platoon got bit and had to get rabies shots, another guy had bought a bunch of stuff and a monkey ran up behind him and stole his bag, and scooted up to the roof of a building. Proceeded to absolutely rip apart everything he had bought. He stood there cursing at it. 😂
Stupid monkeys!
They still calling them monkeys? A disease had to be renamed because it contained the word “monkey” for fear of offending someone - or the monkeys, maybe.
It’s all insanity.

To read between the lines is to see that it was much more than a passing fling.
I was at Korat RTAFB at the same time. Assigned to flight surgeons office ncic. I remember that there was a monkey problem at that time also. You could hear them screeching all along the flight line area.
Yes, and it’s funny in this instance.
Thank you for getting the reference even if I butchered it.
