Authorities discovered the remains of a missing woman in the jaws of an alligator this week in Houston, prompting an investigation into her cause of death by the city's Homicide Division Sergeants.
“Patrol officers located the remains of a woman in the jaws of an alligator in the Horsepen Bayou, just west of El Dorado Boulevard, while searching the area for a woman reported missing” on Tuesday, Houston police said in a Wednesday release.
Police did not name the woman, who they believe to be in her 60s, but they told KHOU-TV that she went for a walk around 7:30 p.m. Monday and never returned. Her husband reported her missing Tuesday morning.
Houston police fatally shot the alligator “to prevent it from doing more damage to the remains,” after which a dive team retrieved the remains and the alligator from Horsepen Bayou, according to the Wednesday release.
“At this time, the investigation is pending cause and manner of death, to be determined by an autopsy,” police said.

Do they really need an autopsy to determine the manner of death?

Maybe the husband shot her and dumped the body for ‘gator food.
I don’t think that happened, but an autopsy might determine if it did.

I thought they shot the gator in the head. And they’re still going to do an autopsy?

Because there is a mosque nearby, it could be a Muslim alligator in which case they’re called an Allah Gator.

She could have been murdered or had a medical emergency and died then the gator found her.

Do they really need an autopsy to determine the manner of death?I would say yes. It could have been a murder where the killer dropped the body in the bayou to spirit away the evidence.

Really. The Gator found her and was returning her to the police. Then they shot him.
Not a nice thing to do.

You mean like a hound dog, retrieving a dead duck without chewing it up first? Gator could have been trained.

A Texas Gator had something stuck in it’s craw?
Imagine that...
