Yes, this is true - but you are asking for extraordinary bravery, which should not be expected of average people. All collegiate athletes have trained (and spent huge amounts of time and parents' money) to get to these high-level competitions.
The natural tendency then is, having invested so much, is to "go along to get along" and hope for improvement later
Government did the EXACT same thing with vax mandates. One could say "grow a backbone and not participate" - but tell that to the nursing director, who spent 4-6 years in school and 10 years building their career, who was then forced to get a vax, simply to keep her/his job.

The NCAA record for a male in the 400 meter is 43.61 seconds, and you have to go back to 1953 to even find a male 400 meter record of 47 seconds
It is a pretty sure bet this guy finishing with a time of 55.59 wouldn’t even have been able to compete with ANY men at nearly ANY meaningful collegiate level.

In reality, transgenderism is not being tolerated in the “big money” sports, such as women’s professional soccer, women’s professional golf, women’s professional basketball, women’s professional tennis, or March madness. The organizers of these sports know that they will lose a lot of money if transgenders are allowed to compete. For example, audiences will not watch a women’s March madness game if half of the players are biological males, especially if one team has a lot more males than other teams.

Interestingly, in this instance it appears sociopaths are teaching sociopathic behavior to eager useful idiots who then influence their pupils; it progresses exponentially.
One wonders if that is a political problem, a medical problem or a legal issue (child exploitation; physical, psychological, emotional and mental well-being of every child involved in the event, etc.)

It's obvious why he's running as a female ... he was so slow, he wouldn't even have been invited to compete as a male.
I’m betting he would think, “why are guys dressing up as girls and bragging they won the girlie race?”
It also may account for the "redefinition" of common words, the changing of traditional symbols such as the color of the states, red and blue, political speech, etc. All intended with an unbalancing effect.
My concern is over how to correct the spread of the trend - perhaps parents suing school officials for endangering, exploiting their children, etc.
It is telling that our government has allowed someone who claims to not know how to describe the difference between male and female to sit on the USSC - of course, she knows, the point is that she is clumsily concealing her belief there should be no difference.
That's not going to happen. Whatever is the dominant culture, women will follow.
