I keep trying to rationalize our weapons shipments to what we did in Afghanistan in the Cold War or their weapons shipments to our enemies in the Vietnamese war.

Yet this is different. Why?

Because now our weapons are being used against Russia in their home territory. Say if North Vietnam stated shelling Guam in the Tet offensive with Soviet missiles we probably would have responded differently.

This is new and I think could lead to farther escalation of force.
