Google is coming in for sharp criticism after video went viral of the Google Nest assistant refusing to answer basic questions about the Holocaust — but having no problem answer questions about the Nakba.
“Hey Google, how many Jews were killed by the Nazis?” Instagram user Michael Apfel asks a Google Nest virtual assistant. The video was later posted to X by venture capitalist Josh Wolfe on May 8.
“Sorry, I don’t understand,”
The same token answer was offered to other related questions including “How many Jews were killed during World War II? Who did Adolf Hitler try to kill? How many Jews were killed in the concentration camps? How many Jews were killed in the Holocaust? What was the Holocaust?
The Google device was able to deliver a detailed description of “The Nakba” — an Arabic word meaning “catastrophe” used to describe Palestinians being forced from their homes during the creation of Israel. Google’s AI called it the “ethnic cleaning of Palestinians.”
Tim Urban, a notable author and blogger told The Post he was able to successfully recreate the experiment and that Google Nest had no issue clearly stating how many Germans, Americans and Japanese had died during World War II — or deaths from the Rwandan genocide.
“Google is where we go to answer our questions and you just really want to feel like you can trust those answers and the company behind them. And moments like these break that trust and make you feel like Google’s supposed core value—truth—has been co-opted by politics,” Urban told The Post after posting to X about his dismay over the results.
The video, which has been widely reposted by several prominent X accounts, has racked up millions of views on the platform — where its findings were widely condemned.

Actually, Hitler tried to kill all sorts of people. And he did kill all sorts of people.
Still working on their Fake AI
Once upon a time, people read books — and there were lots of books to choose from —
UFOs are real — or — UFOs are fake
Ghosts are real — or — ghosts are fake
Lard is good for you — or — Lard is bad for you
Hitler killed 6 million Jews in the Holocaust — or — The Holocaust is a myth
Now a lot of people seem to rely on centralized databases (Google, Wikipedia) which often have blind slots or misinformation. People go to “the source” and may be told the equivalent of “the Holocaust is a myth” and then the word spreads that it just never happened.
We ought to have competing sources of information so that people can shrug and say “Can’t trust that site. It’s full of false information.”
As it stands now, for a lot of people, if Google says it, then it must be true.
Did Hitler himself personally kill anyone besides his own suicide? I am using leftist lawfare logic and splitting a hair as an illustration of why I want to spit every time I see a leftest. This kind of leftist hair splitting is how the left gets away with so much in a world that has lost its moral compass. If it were say a democratic president doing this - as a hypothetical - they would excuse this on the grounds that their fearless leader had only the welfare of his people at heart and any bad things that happened were the results of extremist terrorists in his political opposition or people not understanding what they were supposed to be doing.
It’s what happens in a world like ours where so much of humanicy has been cast adrift with no moral compass.
Either way, after the image generation disaster and stuff like this, whoever Google put in charge of their AI clearly f***** google good by making sure his woke politics utterly infested and ruined their multi-billion dollar investment.
Exactly. That was my reaction too. Hell, approx. 75-80 million people perished as a result of WW2. It’d be utterly ahistorical and myopic to expect a grossly oversimplified response of “Jews” from AI or anything/anyone else on that question.
Hitler served in World War I, so he might have “personally killed” some French or English soldiers.
This shows the breakdown of critical thinking and the inability to determine that something is slanted by political cant. I use Google and Wikipedia for lots of things. If I want to know the distance from Chicago to Tulsa I google it. But I don't just trust the results. If the answer came back 237 miles or 3,337 miles I would know immediately that it is wrong and if I got a few wrong answers like that I would stop using goole for that purpose.
I can look up a topic in mathematical topology on wikipedia and know I can get a pretty good explanation because it is pretty hard to lie about abstract math and get away with it. I know better than to look up Trump on google or wikipedia because I know the answer will be slanted because someone stuck his finger in and stirred the pie filling until it is an inedible mess - and propogandists are never subtle. They go all in and create a distortio so amazing it fits no reality whatsoever. For these reasons I don not read the Slimes or Compost. The probility of a non-slanted straight up accurate news report is so low that you cannot believe the publication date in the banner.
I don’t know anything about Google’s AI but I asked the following question on https://deepai.org/chat
“How many jews did the germans kill in world war 2?”
DeepAI answer: “Approximately six million Jews were killed during the Holocaust by the Germans in World War II.”
The rewriting of history. Actually, the erasing of it according to the will of the Marxist in charge.
This is pretty funny. Probably not the first question I’d ask an AI, but then again, I don’t have a specific agenda.
Didn’t he shoot Blondie?
I never use Google, though Duck Duck Go is not much better.
FWIW, Rummel studied Democide more than most, and put the numbers at around 5.3 million Jews killed. 6 million and the term “Holocaust” may have come around in the post-war era, early 60s perhaps, as a result of PR. That’s not a term or number you saw from, say, Churchill, Eisenhower, or Marshall.

I know it’s sacrilegious to question 6 million, but it does appear it might be a slightly inflated number.
Brave has a newer search engine (not the Brave browser). It seems better than DDG.
The math doesn’t add up.
The crazy things is the two founders of Google are Jewish
