I delved into the Libertarian Party platform years ago. Not only was I not impressed, I was disgusted. I call it the Libertine Party. All vices should be legal, all porn, prostitution, all drug use, lower the age of consent, completely open borders, and more. The found even wanted child porn legal.
They since prettied up their site but I know what they stand for. Anarchy, in essence.

I am of the Mises economic faction, the Ron Paul thinkers. I am appalled by abortion being used as a form of birth control, the porn, and the rest you have outlined as anarchic.

The concept is grand, but the reality is the party is a playground for stealth democrats, socialists and communists. They want a whole lot of Liberty and Libertine conceptuals, but will not touch with a ten-foot pole the removal of all social subsidies that enable the slack class.
For example, the majority of all the illegals we’ve had pour in, hardly a 10th of the number would have come if there were 0 freebies incentivizing it.
One of them that actually made an acceptable run against Ellen Tauscher here in the bay area back in the day actually supported forcing employers taking on temps as full time if they utilized them for over a certain period (IIRC 6 Months). Thats in no way a “Libertarian” concept, and as the party doesn’t boot crypto-Dems like that they are just complicit understooges...
