PUTIN'S failing forces have resorted to using bizarre mobile sheds on the battlefield in an attempt to withstand Ukrainian kamikaze drones.
Russian tanks have appeared underneath turtle shell-like cages after it was revealed that a humiliated Putin has lost almost all of the tanks he had when he began his brutal invasion of Ukraine.
Strange footage shows a row of ageing Russian tanks trawling through fields under the steel covers.
The odd-shaped metal blanket appears to be designed to shield Putin's dwindling fleet from Ukrainian onslaught.
Up close clips show that they cover almost the entire tank, leaving a gap at the front for the turret to fire at enemy troops.

No sense of history. Armored vehicles often had a birdcage style protective shield. Not very sophisticated. Look at the ww2 photos. Tanks can be found with bed springs and sandbags. The idea was to allow the panzerfaust or rocket to detonate before contact with vehicle hull.

Dima reported on this. Seems the armor is more effective against drones than reactive armor, but the turret is very limited in its rotation. However, this particular tank, a one-of-a-kind, had turret damage that prevented a field repair, so the Russians put on the (thick) plating and used it to clear mines, which is why it was spotted leading a (successful) assault.
Sounds to me like the Neocons are up against some rather SMART people, which isn’t a surprise to Home Schooling Americans who use Russian Math to teach their kids. Hopefully, next time we pick out our enemies a bit more carefully.

Those tanks sound like a pretty creative idea. If I was a crewmember, I would be worried about getting trapped under it, but I think I would worry more about a drone drop in the mortar shell on the top of the turret. Reminiscent of all the bazaar tank models we made during World War II as field expedient solutions to changes in the tactical situation.

Kind of a funny sort of humiliation where the humiliatees are gaining ground. You could go over there and add yourself the defending the place you live so much. Oh wait. You are already there. Just not on the front.
