From what I’ve seen it was well written and acted. But I have a real problem with Hollywood’s penchant for glorifying criminality.

“Ammonium nitrate is not an explosive, by itself.”
It’s not but everyone is on a roll. I’m thinking it’s already in the ground.

It’s not but everyone is on a roll. A lot of people have no trouble adding 1+0=5 ...
A lot of people have works of fiction seen on television as their primary touchstone for real-world events.

There might be a weed farm out there with a bumper crop.

Probably spread on someone’s fields by now. There was a fertilizer shortage scare for a while.

They didn’t steal the ENTIRE carload. They siphoned off several barrels full.
An entire train car load is equivalent to about four trailer loads.
Based on actually reading the article, the UP railroad thinks that either they never actually loaded the car at the facility in WY or it leaked out in transit. Which does not make any sense seeing that the valves were all sealed when it got to southern California.
You would think that there would be a trail of fertilizer pellets all along under the tracks from WY to CA.
To: Red Badger
the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) is still investigating where and how the explosive fertilizer vanished. The feds are on the case! I’m so relieved. I’m sure the perpetrators will be apprehended quickly and justice will be served swiftly.

Stop over in wrong neighborhood of Albuquerque and you’ll find out the meaning of gringo...the hard way.

“Earlier this month, Dyno Nobel was fined nearly $400,000 by the U.S Environmental Protection Agency for safety violations...”
So some chicken-shit inconsequential inadvertent “safety violations” and the preserved Union government kicks them while they are down and nicks them for 400 large!
