A new study has found an association between ultra-processed foods and over 30 health complications, including depression, sleep disturbances and death related to cardiovascular disease.
“Overall, direct associations were found between exposure to ultra-processed foods and 32 (71%) health parameters spanning mortality, cancer, and mental, respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and metabolic health outcomes,” study author Dr. Melissa Lane, an associate research fellow at Deakin University, told South West News Service.
Ultra-processed foods — low-cost, easy-to-prepare items like cereal bars, frozen meals and pre-packaged snacks — comprise 60% of Americans’ diets and have been previously linked to poor health outcomes like cancer or cognitive decline. But the latest research, published Wednesday in the BMJ, is an “umbrella review” of 45 scientific reports published during the previous three years, including data from nearly 10 million patients and volunteers.

I think studies cause cancer.
You are what you eat. I was ten when my grandmother and I were snapping beans for dinner while we were watching Merv Griffin, and she had that chat with me.
Everything is bad says , Scientists ,maybe these Scientists are fake
Climate Scientists also say it’s ALL BAD ,LOL
LOL. “The talk” with grandma. Not the sort of “the talk” you always hear about black kids getting.
That’s a nice memory. The simple pleasures of life and a great life lesson learned, too. And it stuck with you for many years (unless you are 12 now).
Everything needs to be taken in perspective. How do the odds compare with getting a Covid vaccine, or smoking or drinking, or answering the question, “Does this dress make me look fat?”
How can I avoid being killed by death?
Add 52 to 12.

Everything, everything gives you cancer
Everything, everything gives you cancer
There’s no cure, there’s no answer
Everything gives you cancer
Don’t touch that dial
Don’t try to smile
Just take this pill
It’s in your file
Don’t work hard
Don’t play hard
Don’t plan for the graveyard
Remember
Everything, everything gives you cancer
Everything, everything gives you cancer
There’s no cure, there’s no answer
Everything gives you cancer
Don’t work by night
Don’t sleep by day
You’ll feel all right
But you will pay
No caffeine
No protein
No booze or nicotine
Remember
Everything, everything gives you cancer
Everything, everything gives you cancer
There’s no cure, there’s no answer
Everything gives you cancer
No caffeine
No protein
No booze or nicotine
Remember
Everything, everything gives you cancer
Everything, everything gives you cancer
There’s no cure, there’s no answer
Everything gives you cancer
Generally I’d tend to agree with this. We eat practically no junk food at our home.
But with the word “study” in there, it becomes as suspect as anything associated with “science” or “fact checking”. They’ve all become buzz words used by the left associated with turning lies into the truth.
Visceral Fat is your enemy. And processed food is the main factor in it, and you can look skinny on the outside and still have a lot of visceral fat.
Breathing risks death.
Add it into the middle of the list of things your wife has asked you to do and it’s guaranteed you live on forever.
As the old French saying goes, “the first day injures, all the rest kill”.
There is no such thing as “junk-food”. There are just good and bad decisions on what you put in your face hole. If you know and understand nature and the commercialization of mass production of foodstuffs, you won’t eat it.
Our bodies were built to be cavemen.
Understanding the world of the caveman is a good guide as to how to eat. The caveman didn’t have supermarkets with all kinds of food available year-round. And there certainly wasn’t any processed foods back then.
If he wanted food, he had to hunt for it, and he might go days without food, and yet he survived. And he’d better be fast to outrun the animals that were trying to kill him.
This is why fasting is actually good for the body. You have to be at your best when you haven’t eaten for awhile, and fasting actually is good for the brain, and produces Human Growth Hormone to build muscle.
eat healthy, avoid drugs, exercise and die anyway.
That's exactly right. That's why I don't want to know. Ignorance is bliss. I want to live in a world of bliss. Give me my Little Debbies Swiss Roll, Raspberry Bismark, and we all want to be like Joe, give me ice cream.
Bless your grandmother. For sure you are what you eat. I read a book 60 years ago, “Food Is Your Best Medicine” (now available on AMZ) when I had a sick little boy. Changed his diet, changed his life. Mine too. Of course we now have to eat certain things organic with no GMOs, which were not a problem back then.
Pasture raised eggs and chicken, no wheat, no salt on anything, skip seed oils, only extra virgin olive oil, etc etc. I don’t eat saturated fats like butter and cheese and really don’t miss them.
Woman who sold me new insurance was seriously impressed that I didn’t need prescription drugs for cholesterol. . No wheat? Told her I buy BFree seed bread at Natural Grocer or Walmart online. Delish. Modern wheat has junk in it that raises cholesterol. I read that in a book by Wm Davis, MD: “Wheat Belly” Stopped eating wheat and cholesterol perfect in two months.
I’m 87, take one prescription drug, have blood pressure like a teenager’s, and eat all the right things. Walk a mile a day — couldn’t do that for awhile because I had a broken ankle, but doc said last week I could go back to the gym.
