We used to walk home from school all the time. I remember when we were very little say about K to about 2nd grade our Moms would save plastic bread bags and put them in our rubber boots to put over our feet. Somehow this kept our feet more warm. You would go in the area were kids kept their coats, hats, and boots and see all the bread bags sticking out of rubber boots and you knew what brand they ate. I wonder if moms still do this?
Now walking home is a punishment? Kids today have it soft.

I grew up like 10 blocks from elementary school....Had to walk with my older sister. Hated it!! LOL
If I was King...this "Mom" would hang.

I have to agree, I walked home k-10, didnt see it as a punishment as much as a grown up thing to do. even as a 5 y.o. walking home with a group if friends was how we socialized and got our asses beat if we were too weird. stopped the trans movement by 3rd grade.
