Christians Must Get Serious If They Wish To Challenge Leftist Culture

For too long, serious churches have ceded ground to the left on cultural issues that the left integrated into politics, and they’re running out of time to act.

I was fortunate enough to see an early screening of a brand-new film based on Eric Metaxas’ best-selling book, Letter to the American Church. The hour-long film, which shares the book’s name, vividly lays out the case that it is high time Christians in this country got seriously involved in the cultural and political arena.

The author’s narration is accompanied by rapid-fire images that help convey the urgency of the days in which we live. They force us to acknowledge things that, a mere dozen or so years ago, were unthinkable: Kindergarten children at drag queen shows; males competing in girls’ sports because they are convinced they are females; free speech being silenced; getting fired for “misgendering” a coworker; and the government shutting down churches and keeping strip clubs open in the name of “science” and a mysterious virus to name just a few profound changes in America that are now the norm. Even “business as usual” is more “business as unusual” in a corporate world that mirrors the culture, hoping in that way to achieve the largest profit margins.

And what has the Church these past many years been doing to slow the roll of this Looney Tunes juggernaut? Unfortunately, in many cases, the Church has jumped right on the merry-go-round, displaying rainbow and BLM flags and welcoming gay pageantry right into the sanctuary.

For those churches at the forefront of welcoming the left, it is a pretty sure bet that they are not really “Christian” in any true sense (“By their fruit you will know them”).

The Marxists have many years invested in America. Why on Earth would they slow down? If anything, their hard work is just now paying off.

The west is now post-Christian. We are being left to our own devices. Only Devine intervention can change anything.

"Letter to the American Church": Great book, pretty short read.

Buy it, read it, share it.

Many churches around me are teaching to leave politics to the Lord. They teach to pay no attention to news or podcasts or any other non scriptural communications.

males competing in girls’ sports because they are convinced they are females;

I disagree that they think they are really girls. They KNOW they are not and since they can't win against other men, they lie through their teeth so they can *win* a competition and act like they are someone special and accomplished something great.

No disrespect to women but it's no great feat for a guy to be able to defeat women in physical prowess. They do have the physical advantage.

Additionally, I think many of them are sexual predators who are getting their kicks out of making women feel violated in any manner.

The Leftists who mostly control the news media and education and now even the Internet simply will not engage Christians in debate or provide them a fair forum. The harder task then becomes making a case for the Christian faith to Christians so that they can withstand the Left's assault in their own lives and to advocates Christian faith to others.

Unfortunately, for most Christian educators, this requires the near impossible: to step outside the confines of sectarian doctrines and to understand and refute the Left's arguments and attitudes with reference to popular culture. Nevertheless, the raw material is there in abundance.

Paranormal subjects and material are increasingly common and popular. Ghosts, life after death, spirits, and the like are all in contradiction to the Left's foundational principle of materialism. Moreover, modern physics now assumes that immaterial consciousness is real and connected to matter at the most fundamental level.

For most serious Christians though, interest in paranormal subjects is frowned upon and the idiom and principles of science are considered subversive of faith. Properly understood though, both can be reconciled with Christianity. More than that, they offer an opening to considering Christian faith as a coherent explanation for human existence as an extension of the immaterial world of consciousness.

Right in the middle of this book right now. Eric Metaxas came to our church and spoke. What an eye opener!!

"Eric Metaxas came to our church and spoke."

What a blessing.
Have heard him speak several times over the last ten years - always a joy. And a pretty funny guy, too.

Nope, it isn’t. It’s in fact ramping up, as it has been for at least 25 years. Baseline reality has warped into a disturbing reflection of a highly, highly dysfunctional society on a bobsled to hell. And nobody give a damn. Into this vacuum pours the insanity and malice that drives leftists. They established their beachhead and support infrastructure long ago, and have nearly succeeded in destroying us.

Many churches spread the gospel of passivity. Passive people don't challenge anything.

Turning the other cheek doesn't mean "roll over and play dead."

This is nothing like what the Apostles did.

Churches/christians dropped the ball during FDRs term and ever since. Sadly, churches have become propaganda arms of radicals. We left a rather large church in NJ when pushing the “white oppressor/racism” crap during services. We spoke to the pastor and other leaders…their response “if you don’t like it then leave”.
2500 member church and only a handful left. Jesus stated many would be misled. I recall reading that verse 25 years ago as a new Christian and thought “no way…never happening”.
Boy was I wrong.

Exactly right. Well said. On top of the reality that more often than not, church revenue is a priority over morality. Such as the case with hiding behind “compassionate humanitarianism” by aiding and abetting illegal immigrants coming into the country for donations and government subsidies.

“Christians Must Get Serious If They Wish To Challenge Leftist Culture”

First they said “Don’t jail us for what we do in the bedroom”, and we said “That’s not so bad, ok we’ll leave you alone, just don’t bother us again”.

Then they said “Why can’t we also get married?”, and we said “That’s not so bad, ok we’ll leave you alone, just don’t bother us again”.

Now they say “We need to cut you son’s dick off”, and enough angry women said “Fine with me, I hate men anyway.”. And now people who oppose this ‘procedure’ risk going to jail in many Western countries, and even the US, if the Democrats win in November

Moral of the story: sometimes it’s better to cut out an infection early.
