Ever notice the English colonies are some of the most successful? The English brought with them a system of governance, systems and processes, infrastructure, that in those countries where it stuck, made them prosper. This is merely the loser reciprocal argument.

Because popular vote is sooooo much better a way to select leaders than inheritance.

The @ssholes we have in charge don’t care if the burn the house down as long as they win the next elections, and their time horizon is never more than 3 years.
Working to bring civilization to the darkest corners of the world was a challenge for sure. Some places worked, many did not.
When people in Africa decided to sell their own people around the world can’t blame the buyer.
