Tallahassee, Fla., January 17, 2024 – Today, the State Board of Education implemented strict regulations to limit the use of public funds for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs, activities, and policies in the Florida College System (FCS). The rule adopted by the Board defined, for the first time, DEI and affirmatively prohibits FCS institutions from using state or federal funds to administer programs that categorize individuals based on race or sex for the purpose of differential or preferential treatment. The Board's decision will ensure that taxpayer funds can no longer be used to promote DEI on Florida’s 28 state college campuses.
The State Board of Education also replaced the course "Principles of Sociology" with a comprehensive general education core course in American History. The aim is to provide students with an accurate and factual account of the nation's past, rather than exposing them to radical woke ideologies, which had become commonplace in the now replaced course.
“Higher education must return to its essential foundations of academic integrity and the pursuit of knowledge instead of being corrupted by destructive ideologies,” said Florida Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz, Jr. “These actions today ensure that we will not spend taxpayers’ money supporting DEI and radical indoctrination that promotes division in our society.”

When I saw the all-caps headline, including the word “DEI”, my Latin kicked in and I thought they were prohibiting God!

I think we just found President Trump’s Secretary of Education.

To the Left, DEI IS THEIR GOD.....................
Florida is certainly leading the way on clearing out this socialist rot.

Wrong case. The ablative is used for separation.
PLEASE!!!
Treating people by the content of their character rather than by the color of their skin. Who would have thought of such a radical idea?
DEI, in practice, is Discrimination, Exclusion and Inequity. It should be scrapped nationwide.
And the lack of interest on this forum is sad
Many are stunned when the find out there is more to a job than Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Florida did good opening eyes to reality.
Somebody relay the word to Congressman Greg “Splat” Stuebe, but don’t tell him while he’s up on his roof.
A lot of UF professors’ heads are exploding.
Martha Stewart says, “that’s a good thing.”
The ablative is “deo”
Daylight come and we wanna go home!

Booming ascendancy and anti-woke common sense make Florida a shining example of what all of America--and the entire world--can be.
The population of Florida, now the third largest state, has burgeoned mainly because of immigration, and its splendor has resulted from anti-woke common sense and consequent ascendancy.
Does this mean that it is untrue that most immigrants from the sicko leftist states bring sicko leftis voting patterns when they migrate to healthy conservative states? Perhaps it does.
One has to be deeeeeeeep in denial not to see the contrast and embrace the reasons behind Florida's ascendancy.
Such deep denial is a manifestation of serious mental illness. The mental illness behind the squalor of Democrat control is a serious pandemic, at least as dangerous and devastating as the black plague pandemics of centuries past and anything since then.
This pandemic is the greatest threat to the people of the world in history.
“Does this mean that it is untrue that most immigrants from the sicko leftist states bring sicko leftis voting patterns when they migrate to healthy conservative states? Perhaps it does.”
It’s gonna take at least a couple of election cycles to tell one way or the other.
