I’m scared to ask what that is, or if it’s going to bite or claw me.

Conch isn’t bad. It’s actually pretty good.

I’m sorry. That just looks nauseating and pathetic.

I think it’s supposed to be herring, but looks like something else got in there.

The ‘bread in a can’ is a thing. Heavy on the molasses but edible. Chicken in a can is what you’d expect. Drain and de-bone to get the meat out. The asian stuff is just too gross to comment on.

I think we still have a can of Spotted Dick back behind a bunch of stuff in the pantry. Been there for years.

I like my canned food like my women, with a little fight in them.

” was the only one who ate every can of fruit cake I could get hold of and when I had gotten all the ones I could from people just wanting to get rid of them, then I would trade my peaches for more.”
You are a sick man, I’d bet you liked the scrambled eggs and Ham also.
My favorite was What I’d call Salisbury steak and gravy. God knows what it really was.

Loved the eggs and ham, not for the taste but for the protein, I needed lots of calories to maintain and was always looking for extras.

In garrison when I was a temporary battery clerk I issued myself two meal cards, one for the regular mess hall and one for the hamburger/chile dog mess hall so that I could eat two lunches at work every day, I also had separate rations since I lived off post with my new wife.

in the field i collected all the extra C-rations I could get.
