I despise DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). I wish GM wasn’t so in love with them.

They are required by law in certain northern countries, so everybody gets them whether they like them or not.............

Not interested in GOV motors.
Plus they still have the plastic nose and rear bumper cap that flaps in the breeze. Man that just screams cheap.
Ghetto wheels? Guess we know the target audience.
Mom had a 1978 Suburban, last one I liked. Had chrome bumpers front and rear.

There is usually a procedure for turning them off. Look in the owners manual or online. It’s usually some convoluted process like turn key on, press brake three times, turn key off and of rapidly 4 times, leave on, press accelerator twice. Start car.

I’m serious. But then they stay off. Lots of cops know those hacks. Kinda sucks for them to sit, idling in a car on a dark lot trying to be incognito and have those headlights on.

"I wish GM wasn’t so in love with [Day time running lights]".

It isn't love, it's safety. DRLs reduce daytine accidents by 10%. GM put them on in the 90s to enhance customer safety, in spite of a quarter mile per gallon fuel economy penalty.
