As expected in last month’s article, gun sales increased in October. According to the figures released by the FBI National Instant Background Check System (NICS), gun sales were about 1.33 million for October 2023, roughly a nine percent increase over the gun sales figures for October 2022. 1.33 million gun sales make October 2023 the third-highest October for gun sales. Checks done in the NICS system in October 2023 were about 2.26 million, making October 2023 the sixth-highest number of checks done in October since the first October in the system was recorded in 1999.
The number of gun sales and NICS checks is not a 1 to 1 ratio. Many more NICS checks are done than firearm sales. NICS checks are done for gun permits and for other purposes. One NICS check can be used to sell more than one gun. People with qualifying permits in 25 states can use their carry permit to purchase guns without going through additional NICS checks. The number of NICS checks done per gun sold varies above and below about two NICS checks for each gun sold.

BTW, I think you now live in Israel. My understanding is that there you can own a firearm but are limited to 50 rounds of ammunition. The footage of the October 6th invasion shows the terrorists going house to house with no return fire. WTF? We hope that all changes - and SOON!

It’s not like conservatives in red states aren’t already armed. So who then are the new purchasers? Illegals coming over the border? Single, white, divorced sex-crazed females? We had 2.5 million illegals enter the country over the past year alone. You know many of them are going to be able to find a source to buy what they want. This has me really worried.
Our government traces our weapon purchases. But they refuse to trace foreign invaders.

Maybe many conservatives decided they were not as well-armed as they thought they were and are supplementing their supplies.
