Pure Isolationism has never existed in U.S history. Idealistic clap trap. War will come looking for you whether you give aid or not. And the more quickly it will come if the more virulent crazies think you stand for nothing and won’t lift a finger to help an ally out who is on the frontline in the civilisation war. As messy as can be helping out, it pales into how messy it will be with crazies raising their flag above a burned out whitehouse

I agree. At the beginning of the Republic, there was no thought that the country should be involved in every conflict in the world. But now the interventionists (both left and right) want us to be not only involved but to fund the conflict.

We’re broke. And then some. No more foreign welfare and global military spending.
