Ukraine's Counteroffensive - Breach, not Breakthrough: Minefields, tactics and emerging lessons
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjf_vAkaBS8 ^ | 10/8/2023 | Perun

Description: After more than four months of fighting, Ukraine's counteroffensive is grinding on. There have been none of the rapid mechanised advances many Ukrainian allies hoped for. Instead, there has been a hard, grinding assault intended to slowly break into, and eventually through, the main belt of Russian fixed defences.

Today I want to look at the way the counteroffensive has evolved over time, what we've learned about Russian defences and tactics, and what all of that might mean as months of mud and winter cold grow ever closer.

What’s going on in Ukraine? I think I heard something about it in the recent past, but all the news that I see now deals with Israel.

Some here have not got the memo. Ukraine is yesterday. The "war" will last about a week once the West stops sending $Billion after $Billion of taxpayer dollars. Russia will permanently get back the territory they gave up in the 90s when they mistakenly assumed that Ukraine would always be one of their puppets. And then life will go on.

You don’t need Telegram. None of them know anything.

There is some raw information.

Russia drafts universally. 1 year of training of young men and then moved to the Reserves and sent home to civilian life. The total Reserves up to a top end of military age is 25 million.

Active duty people about 1.1 million. This is all in the Wiki from pre war with some immunity from recent propaganda.

The 1.1 million are spread across the country, as does the US with its armed forces. Russia also has people abroad in a modest blue water navy around the Pacific coast and submarines in the Atlantic, as well as troop presence in Syria.

Last September, Putin announced mobilization of 300K Reservists. That, plus some modest number of active duty troops are all that are allocated to Ukraine and its very long border of Donbas and the north, is all they have committed.

300K. Out of 25 million. They do not appear to be very serious, judging from the context of pure numbers. This could change at any time, of course. Putin is up for re-election in March.

Yep! It's time to move on.

You know, 'cause the foolhardy idea of launching a losing proxy war via the Ukies has been one colossal and massive failure just like the others (remember Afghanistan) -- as any fool could have predicted.

Well, maybe not the fools in our government and a few fools here on FR.

Yes. Move on. And maybe, just maybe, the masses will forget about the $200 billion we've flitted away and hundreds of thousands of dead Ukies and the promise to send the Ruskies back to the Stone Age -- NOT!

It's election season, don't ya know. We all know they can't have a Jimma' Carter repeat of the desert hostage rescue fiasco of 1980 before the election.

After all, everybody knows this is just Putin's version of 4D chess -- like his move of having Hillary author the Russian collusion story or hookers peeing on Trump's bed in a Moscow hotel.

Sure. Everybody know.

Another thunderbolt from Perun, the thunder god?

At night I watch documentaries about WWI.

And in the morning I wake up and it’s the same damn thing in today’s world.

Proxy war against Russia is a myth. Ukraine is being maintained as a sink for corruption. Look at how many US officials have visited Ukraine and ask yourself why they visit Ukraine and not some other countries? There is a long list of dignitaries who have visited Ukraine. Merrick Garland. Janet Yellen. Lindsey Graham. That’s just the ones I can think of that I don’t need to document because anyone can verify it in seconds. Zelensky’s wife was able to spend over a million dollars at a jewelry store in New York last week. How does Ukraine have that much money lying around when they are fighting for their very existence?

Proxy war against Russia is a myth.

Yes -- prox war/myth!

But in today's doublespeak, it is just another word for lies and "the narrative."

It's been used against us for many, many years....

- WMD's in Iraq -- let's invade
- Kill bin Laden -- let's invade Afghanistan
- January 6th insurrection -- let's prosecute
- The commies are coming/Gulf of Tonkin -- let's invade Vietnam

More of these examples on request.

Ukraine is being maintained as a sink for corruption.

Ukraine is being "maintained" because first of all, Ukrainians are determined to fight for their independence. Secondly, the highest donations of weapons per capita to Ukraine are from Ukraine's neighbors, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, etc who rightly fear further Russian aggression. Ask Finland why they suddenly joined NATO and didn't just rely on the existing treaties with Russia.

Zelensky’s wife was able to spend over a million dollars at a jewelry store in New York last week.

False. Based on an anonymous posting on X by "gorgeous.bb.jeanette".

The alleged Cartier receipt, used to claim that Olena Zelenska spent $1.1 million on jewelry in New York, is dated the same day she and President Zelensky were in Canada.

I believe the Ukrainians would lose so quickly now that funding has been withdrawn, exposing the fact that it’s US dollars that create and sustain it, that the globalists needed to create a distraction and Israel is always on their ‘most hated’ list.
