Ah, that’s some good drinking music.
The band being the Swampers of course. The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section.
It’s some good “#*!/_=($&” music. (self-censored).
Back when music was music...
Today’s music, for the past 40 year, is just monotonous noise...
This is a live recording. No Swampers here.
Hollywood Nights was really about him. Talented enough to put it to music.
What a great version!
Every time I see the name Bob Seger, I take those old records off the shelf.
And I…well you know the rest. Or at least you should.

Today’s music ain’t got the same soul.
I didn’t know that they worked other stuff with him
Bob Seger, “Against the Wind” (1980)
Seger’s first and only number-one album was recorded at the studio on Alabama Street. Many of his hits – “Mainstreet,” “Old Time Rock and Roll, and “We’ve Got Tonight,” to name a few – were also recorded with the help of the Swampers.
Nonetheless, Bob Seger, good music 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶 and..... Hillary Clinton supporter. 🙄🤢🤮
The great Bob Seger...the REAL Bruce Springsteen.
This. The song about the summer of my senior year in high school. The memories come flooding back...
Thanks for the post! :-)
When I was transferring from UofCincinnati to UCLA, I lived in Hollywood.
Hollywood Nights gets very, VERY close to my time in Hollywood for a "midwestern boy" from Ohio,
My first ever concert (still can’t believe my parents let me go!). At the T-Bowl in Orlando, FL. Opening act was Molly Hatchet. Summer of my senior year, I think. Those were some great memories.
“Just a great song”
Not just a great song, but a suite in four movements: main theme, “Oh, the wonder,” “Woke last night,” main theme. Probably the best piece he’s written.
And he’s written a lot of terrific stuff. This morning on the radio, for the first time in many moons I heard “Sunspot Baby” - nuthin’ fancy, just a damn good song.
Heck I would have gone just to see Molly Hatchet.
Agreed. Great stuff.
Honestly…50 years later…it was GREAT
