Here is a pie crust recipe using shortening powder. I made one today using margarine powder, just because I have more of that.
I've made this before a few times, thinking it might save some calories. Plus I have all this powder that I need to use up so I can replace it. It's been expired several years. Anyway I don't think it does much with the calories, only saves a little. But it's a much easier pie crust to make. It's not flaky like one with layers of real fat would be, but it's not bad.

I picked up some Ball canning Lids at Walmart yesterday. I noticed they also have them online at the same price. I’m not sure if it’s a sale but it seems to be a little cheaper than I thought they originally were.
Regular mouth Lids were $4 and wide mouth lids were $5. Regular mouth canning bands with lids was $7. I thought that one was probably a good deal so I got several boxes.
