‘God removes people from your life because He’s heard conversations that you haven’t.’

That's an interesting perspective......

Thanks for sharing that.

From 2022, when I first read one of many articles on the problems with Mexican avocados. If they’re from America (CA, TX, FL) I’ll buy them.

“MEXICO CITY—With clever Super Bowl ads, an irresistible fruit and apparently insatiable appetite from U.S. consumers, Mexico’s avocado producers have so far been able to separate avocados from the conflictive landscape that produces them—at least until a threat to a U.S. agricultural inspector essentially shut down their exports last week.

But as producers continue to suffer extortion from organized crime, and loggers continue to chop down pine forests to clear land for avocado orchards, another threat looms: Campaigns for greener competition and perhaps even a boycott.”

Good to hear from you.

Great spring crops. 80 quarts of green beans, 190 ears of corn after giving a bunch away, had 63 tomato plants so plenty canned and dehydrated, 57 quarts of pickles pickles pickles, 135 pints of kraut. Canned turkey, chicken, beef and deer. Plenty of the other essentials, rice, flour, wheat, beans, sugar and salt.

God has blessed us. Cannot say that for our immoral government, schools and people.

The Hebrew Bible often portrays women as victors, leaders, and heroines with qualities Israel should emulate. Women such as Hagar, Tamar, Miriam, Rahab, Deborah, Esther, and Yael/Jael, are among many female “saviors” of Israel.

What do we learn from Hagar?
Hagar: The Woman Who Named God | Genesis 16, 21 | Women of ...
Hagar shows us that even when we wander in wilderness places, even when life circumstances and systems of power push us down and toss us out, God is drawing near to us.

What is the lesson of the story of Tamar?
Tamar’s story with Judah is important in the way it shows how very human and flawed and yet chosen is the family through whom God would bring about redemption for the world. It shows that God works through messy human situations, including sexual relationships to bring about God’s will.

Miriam’s story demonstrates how God’s hand is in every event of our life, no matter how insignificant or difficult it may seem. It shows how we can have courage regardless of our circumstances, because God has a plan for our lives.

What is the legacy of Rahab in the Bible?
Rahab’s legacy is that God will save anyone. God does not restrict his grace to a certain nation. He is willing to accept even Canaanite prostitutes—when they have the faith and courage to seek him. Rahab’s legacy is that God will save anyone who believes.

The story of Deborah in the Bible shows us that the Lord calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things that can only be accomplished through the Spirit. This Bible study of Judges 4 and 5 explores what we can learn from Deborah about calling and the power of the Holy Spirit.

What is the reflection of the book of Esther?
The book of Esther is a classic expression of the biblical idea that God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble. And God is still in the habit of elevating those who society has deemed unimportant. It might not always look as heroic as Esther’s story, but God can use anybody as an instrument for his purposes.

What is the lesson of the story of Jael?
This event in Jael’s life reveals a series of lessons, the first of which is that God will always fulfil His word. It may not be in line with our idea of perfect timing, however He “is not a man that He should lie;” His word does not return to Him void but accomplishes what He pleases (Isaiah 55:11)

All I ever wanted to be was a wife and mother so I was a stay at home mom. I did go to work for short periods of time when there were things we wanted to do that we didn’t have the money for unless there was some more income.

My husband was a teacher and I am sure you know they don’t make a fortune. (It may be better now though) We had everything we needed and lived a good life.

A very good goal, Spunky.....and it used to be fairly common, compared to recent times. I’m for everyone doing what they feel called to do, unlike many in the feminist movement.

When my son was in Grade 11, the class was having a discussion, and the subject of careers, etc. came up. My son expressed that he thought careers were fine, that women certainly had the brains and the right to pursue anything they wanted. He then made the mistake of saying that he also felt if a woman wanted to marry and be a homemaker and raise her kids, that, too, was fine. Well, they turned on him like ugly on an ape lol.

How dare he suggest such a thing?! You would think he had put forward the idea that men who wanted their wives at home should burn all of their shoes and keep them pregnant and in the kitchen all day lol. He sure got his eyes opened to the rabid left.

The avocado market is lucrative enough that it actually is on par with illegal markets such as drugs or guns. Cartels realize that, so they seize farms and orchards, force people to plant avocado trees, and sometimes enslave whole villages to tend and harvest.

Wow, that’s a lot of canned goods. Will you be able to use them up over the winter? They would last another year if not, I’m just curious.

Thank you for that post. People that say the Bible doesn’t teach respect for women has not read it.

That was a good goal Spunky, and the best thing for the kids.

What’s sad is that women are often made to feel bad for not doing everything, as if that’s even possible.

Sorry for the long delay getting my paintings from my grandfather posted. I thought I had already transferred them to the tablet but I couldn’t find them. So I did it again.

There will be some redundancy, I tried to get more than one in a picture so a lot of them are early on when I just started framing.

Do not know where you get your info but we are eating on some can goods from 2012. Been doing this forever and have never had a case of botulism or food sickness.

Just remember to chunk away any cans that are not sealed. You can tell these by noticing a lid bulging. Also store in dark room. Cooler the better.

I was just going by what I see in the canning books. I wouldn’t recommend others do what I do just because I’m not sure of it. However the last thing I trust is the FDA

But I do the same thing, most everything has been good for about 5 years. The Taste and texture tends to be off a little bit after that.

But since you’re the test case, canned food is good for at least a decade!

Thanks spunky. I figure I’m making my house his legacy. My sisters and mother had a lot of his paintings, but they have all passed away and I’m pretty sure their husbands don’t appreciate them as much as they did. I don’t know what will happen to them.

But I know I’m enjoying mine! I ended up framing every single one I had. Well except for the big one. I have a frame and a box somewhere downstairs. But I have a spot on the wall for it. It probably looks a little busy but I like it.

Now we have to figure out how to get your artwork on the internet!
