We’d be better off with nationwide Constitutional carry. And fewer cops since as you say it’s so dangerous to be a cop.
Philosophically, I agree with you. An awful lot of people that ought not carry a gun would be doing so, though. There was a local idiot with a CCW permit that seemed to think he was a cop. He interjected himself into a situation that should have bern ignored...a homeless person walking along, yelling. He ended up shooting the guy. Dumb.
