I just had a thought. They probably don’t really want to die but to find a solution to their self-inflicted pain and they believe someone will step forward with a magic panacea. There isn’t one.
I have spent quite a bit of time around people who care for people who are ill and even dying. What they have told me repeatedly is that while they have patients who ask them to kill them if the same patients are given the means to suicide the majority will not use it.
Humans have a very strong survival drive.
