The wife of alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann has filed for divorce nearly a week after the Manhattan architect was arrested in the case, according to a new court filing.
The filing in Suffolk County Supreme Court is dated Wednesday and indicates the divorce will be "uncontested." The case caption is Asa Ellerup v. Rex Heuermann.
The development comes in the wake of Heuermann's arrest on July 13 in connection with three of the 10 victims linked to the Gilgo Beach, New York, murders.
In a statement shortly after the arrest, defense attorney Michael Brown referred to Heuermann as a "loving husband" and said he and Ellerup had been married more than 25 years.
Ellerup has no comment at this time, her attorney told ABC News on Wednesday.

IIRC the forensics found the wife’s DNA on three of the victims.
Is that mommy and the kids? Who dresses these people?
One more brick on the load. A jury will find this as one more reason to believe he is guilty along with so much else on this case. The guy is fried.
When the shi* hits the fan.
Yep. That’s a stain that will never come clean.
Interesting.........................
Didn’t say whose.................
I was thinking, I would imagine this woman is also very sick over the fact her hair was found on these bodies.
I know she did not do this it was on him when he went there but it would certainly bother me if MY hair was on a poor murdered girl and there is at least one of her hairs on each of the three of them.
My guess ... three-ways, then (maybe) hubby alone with the hooker, for no obvious reason he then offs them. Or they both participate in it. Sick.
She was out of town every murder and in Iceland at least for one so out of the country.
He put locks on his basement door, why, to prevent her from seeing what was going on.
I don’t think she knew a thing.
So much for stand by your man. S/
can’t blame her one bit. She needs to start all over and it won’t be easy.
