Since I’m in a typing mood, here’s a quick side story. It was around 1960 or so, and I was a little boy having lunch in a restaurant with my father. My dad recognized an old man at another table, and brought me over to talk to him.
The old guy was a lad during the great Homestead Strike of 1892. He witnessed the gun battle between the Pinkertons and the mill workers. And he vividly remembers watching the Pennsylvania National Guard showing up to end the conflict.
It sure was interesting listening to the old fellow. He was either an eyewitness to a major historical event or a very good liar!
