"Our nation’s 45th president should refuse to participate in any debate moderated by the likes of Baier and Martha MacCallum."

"He should, instead, propose Tucker Carlson as the moderator."

I agree, completely.

Only Trump can bash Brett Baier the way he needs to be bashed.

Trump would be insane to show up at a Fox News debate with Baier and Martha MacCallum.”

Trump should not lower himself to be on a platform with a bunch of dogs who have been nipping on his heels and have no chance of getting the nomination. Trump should stand on his record as 45th.

Trump obviously has great leverage here. He doesn’t need to be at the debate.
So Mr. Trump, please take the above advice. But don’t propose. Demand.

These debates have all been fixed in the past. Time to change that. At a minimum, each participant should be able to pick one questioner of his/her choice.

The one person who should NEVER moderate any Trump debate in the future is Chris Wallace. I’ll never forget the last 2016 debate when, in the final question, Wallace asked Trump if he would accept the results if Shrillary won the election. I waited for Wallace to ask Clinton the same question. He didn’t, and the debate ended at that point.

There isn’t a point to him being there

He should just hold a rally and let the other “so called” candidates vaporize themselves ignominiously....

I totally agree. It goes without saying that debate moderators must be neutral. But they are always pro-Democrat, and anti-Republican.

This can be fixed by giving the D and R candidates veto power over any proposed moderator. Both sides must agree on the moderator before the debate.

Will the GOP try to force through a sensible rule like that? Almost certainly not. The Left plays hardball while we play whiffle ball.

Given his lead, Trump is basically an incumbent running for re-election so I agree, he’s got better things to do than give legitimacy to the clowns that are despised by the GOP base (other than Vivek, of course).

President Trump knows how to handle any moderator, regardless of their intentions. Look at the CNN Town Hall where that “moderator’ was there to dispute everything while trying to make it about the past and he did so well that the head of CNN was fired as a result.

Trump she should stay away from the debates or else he will be a target of all participants and will be used to garner votes by the others.

“Given his lead, Trump is basically an incumbent running for re-election so I agree, he’s got better things to do than give legitimacy to the clowns that are despised by the GOP base (other than Vivek, of course)”.

I remember well in 1980 Ronald Reagan refused to debate his opponents in the run up to the Iowa caucuses, sensing an air of invincibility. Shortly thereafter, GHW Bush cleaned his clock in Iowa. Reagan scrambled to New Hampshire and arranged for the next debate himself. He then buried the field in the NH primary, and never looked back from there.

The point is – Trump needs to think long and hard before snubbing the voters by refusing to debate. It has the air of arrogance, and in some sense can look cowardly.

That would be true if there were any credible candidates, besides Vivek, running. Also, Trump has his track record in the White House to fall back on, and while that record is far from perfect, his supporters primarily blame the GOP for the problems.
