My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. His doctor recommended not to treat it since it was a fairly non-agressive cancer and besides Dad was 92 at the time. The doc told him “You’re going to die from something but it won’t be prostate cancer.”

One of my wife’s long time friends just went through both options with her husband and an uncle who just died with PC and other more serious problems.
The husband is in his 50’s and has opted for the aggressive treatment. He seems to be doing well with the PC therapy.
Her uncle, age 88, who was like her second father, was in a VA hospital with various other issues in progress.
He opted for their hospice program and passed away without more treatments.
