Flooding to inundate parts of New York state through Monday, cause chaos along Vermont border

Widespread flooding is expected to continue saturating parts of New York through Monday, as videos emerged of heavy rain showers in Hudson Valley submerging vehicles and turning one roadway into a waterfall.

Most of the heavy flooding will swamp areas north of the five boroughs — spanning from Albany to the Canadian border east along I-87, Fox Weather meteorologist Christopher Tate told The Post.

“All of the rain is going to be funneling into the Champlain Valley in Vermont and causing a real problem for folks in Vermont and northeastern New York,” Tate told The Post.

Regions north of Yonkers could see the total rainfall reaching anywhere between 2 and 8 inches, Tate said.

While the threat of flash flooding in northeastern New York, along the Vermont border, will remain high throughout the day, the rain will likely relent by early Tuesday.

Funny, I don’t see “climate” in the excerpt.

Hopefully this will extend into Canada and knock down some of their fires.

It sounds like the author does not know anything about New York State or perhaps never been there: “...heavy flooding will swamp areas north of the five boroughs — spanning from Albany to the Canadian border”

Yes, you might say Albany is north of the five boroughs (of NYC)...like 125 miles north of the five boroughs.

My favorite insane mass media coverage of this event is the claim that it is a “thousand year flood”.

Needless to say there are no records going back anywhere near that far back—anything more than two hundred years is very iffy.

On this property (NW CT) we have a pond that has a plaster like “turtle” as decoration on one of the rocks. We have been there for more than twenty years and this is the only time I can recall where the “turtle” is fully submerged.

I live in western CT and the summer's rainfall has been great for the local farms.

The cornfields around my home are almost ready for picking!

Quite a contrast from last year when it was very dry overall.

No. But this type of weather is unusual for this part of the country. Normally except for snow, they don’t have biblical flooding.

I am kinda curious, is this flooding caused by the warm winter this year? You know, all the snow they usually get, came as rain? Or something equally as stupid.

Is all that Canadian C02 and smoke particles in the air causing all that rain? I am thinking somebody should sue Canada for mismanagement of their vast renewable forests.
