A 19-year-old San Francisco man has been charged in the death of a popular baker who was dragged by a getaway car chasing after armed robbers — and the woke activist’s family has urged authorities not to jail her two assailants because it goes against her social justice beliefs.

“As a long-time social movement activist and anarchist, Jen did not believe in state violence, carceral punishment or incarceration as an effective or just solution to social violence and inequity,” her loved ones wrote on a GoFundMe page after the brutal crime. Her family is “committed to pursuing all available alternatives to traditional prosecution, such as restorative justice,” the post said.
“We know Jen would not want to continue the cycle of harm by bringing state-sanctioned violence to those involved in her death or to other members of Oakland’s rich community,” the family added.

If she doesn't want people punished for crime, why would she run after the people who stole her purse, why not just let them take it?
These idiots want no punishment for the murdering thieves. What about the next person they steal from or kill?
The proper response to her family is: Sorry, but we’re going to prosecute them anyway. It’s not just about YOU and what the deceased might have wanted. It’s also about protecting the rest of society from these thugs.
Of course, this is the SF area, so who knows what will happen.
I’d say the rest of us have an interest in seeing the perps held to account for these crimes.
Legalize murder?
Sure, go on. Everything else is now legal in SF, why not this?
And yet they had a ‘go fund me’ page? For what?
"...If she doesn't want people punished for crime, why would she run after the people who stole her purse, why not just let them take it?..."
You got right to the nut of it. We have to live in the same society with these idiots.
Exactly. She should have just let them have her purse and not chased them. Or, alternatively, her “social justice beliefs” didn’t extend to getting robbed and killed. In which case, the criminals should be prosecuted.
Precisely, my good FRiend.
"Restorative justice" is beyond mere enabling, it's encouraging lawlessness, and is not the victim's family is actually promoting violent crime to potential victims in Frisco?
No matter how pro-crime or anti-crime you are, it was foolish for her to chase the car on foot.
I can only shake my head at this.
Aren't cupcakes a luxury item?
It gives me a headache.
It reminds me of the old saying: many conservatives are former liberals who got mugged.
“Premeditated accessory”? Should be a thing.
And white chocolate chips
What’s she got against the dark chocolate ones?
Clearly she was a white chocolate chip supremacist!
The flip side is true as well. When, long ago, my sister was murdered, I had a discussion with my pastor. Told him I would have no compunction whatever about standing the man up against a wall and blowing his brains out myself (and I meant it.)
He said, "That's why we have a justice system."
It, really, says something when you were as stupid, when you were alive, as when you are dead.
I recall when this happened. If she was so liberal, why would she bother chasing after them? Counter to her social justice leanings if ya ask me. But, nobody asked so....... 🤔😵
