As I read that, I had to laugh, because I'll bet that there are three outcomes of timing it:
- You mis-time it (or the ocean or the vessel does something unexpected) and you end up on the deck!
- You time it perfectly, the ocean and the vessel cooperate, and you land in the rack perfectly.
- You mis-time it (or the ocean or the vessel does something unexpected) and you bash your face or head against the rack above you!
Funny. I was on carriers, and the worst we had even in the highest ocean was walking into a bulkhead...and gently, at that...:)
