This is how fast things can turn deadly during routine traffic stops

Yo, this is a pretty wild video out of Charleston County, South Carolina, and it tells you a whole lot about what police officers are faced with on a daily basis.

This may seem like your everyday traffic stop — the car being pulled over for swerving — however, the man in the passenger seat is a convicted felon, and officers spoke with him for about five minutes before asking him to get out of the vehicle.

Here's what happened when they did that (I'm going to warn you that while you don't see blood, the perp gets smoked in this video).

Man, those two officers are lucky to be alive.

The speed at which they were both able to take cover is just beyond comprehension.

That training sure paid off.

The incident happened in Ravenel shortly before 4:00 p.m. when Deputies Evan Cubbage and Alexander Hodge conducted a traffic stop on a black Crown Victoria…

The suspect, identified as James Pierce (28) of Walterboro, was hit and died at the scene.

Deputy Cubbage was also shot three times.

Always sad to see a life go like that, even if it is a bad guy.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office shared the full video on Facebook:

Notice how when asked if there were any firearms in the vehicle the answer was "no."

Seriously, the police deal with a lot more than we think they do.

So next time you see a protest break out over a man who's been shot by police, I want you to ask some serious questions about how it happened and what led up to the shooting.

Because it's not always as simple as what they tell you on CNN.

[T]he deputies involved in the shooting are on paid administrative leave, per protocol. While the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating the deputy-involved shooting, the sheriff's office said it conducts an internal investigation into all shootings involving its deputies.

I don't disagree with this rule.

Probably a good rule.

Watching the woman I was reminded of how females are basically passive observers of life, they are rarely the principal in the activity.

Even in this close, intimate, and deadly combat all taking place in her car and within a few feet, she is pretty much uninvolved in anything, just a chick who will go on with her life, having other boyfriends and other wild times, but she will always be on the fringe watching whatever wildness her current boyfriend is involved in.

Well... here’s something interesting.

The perp was a leader in a gang called the “Cowboys,” which is tied to Alex Murdaugh somehow.

Fortunately, the Coppers were a two-man unit; otherwise, a solo officer might’ve had that freeway named after him!

Like so many cop incidents you see just how poorly the cops are trained.
1. The cop for some reason looks to the back of the car, after telling the perp to get out. NEVER take your eyes of the subject.
2. The cop has time to tell the perp not to reach. At that point the cop should have pulled his gun. If a subject ignores commands he/she becomes a target.
3. Without his gun in hand the cop then reaches in to wrestle with the perp.
BAD move.
4. If the cop is reaching in, he is advancing on the target, which is GOOD, if his gun is drawn.
5. The cop couldn't stop the perp by reaching, because the perp had probably turned to the left protecting his hands with his back.
6. If the cop had drawn his gun and placed it against the perps back, then when he saw the perps gun the cops hands would have been protected and all he had to do is pull the trigger. End of story, perp dead, everyone safe.
7. Instead the cop put himself in a no man's land “zone”, unarmed. He needs to learn how to advance on a target, or immediately, with focus create distance with gun sighted on target.

There are several excellent training academies for civilians and cops. The fact the cops are so poorly trained is inexcusable.

Well, it is safer to approach from that side than standing in the roadway.

Here’s a couple of good rules for those in the hood.

Don’t run from LEOs, (the Man, 5 0, popo etc).

Don’t shoot at LEOs. (See above).
