This EV stuff is BS. I went to look at electric lawn mowers and about fell over...$700 and UP for something that might run 50 minutes. What a crock.
“. $700 and UP for something that might run 50 minutes.”
Not only that, but the battery also has to cool down for about 30 minutes, before the charger will let you charge. Then 180 minutes before you have a fully charged battery. What a crock.
Bought a Greenworks 12" chainsaw, last year, just to have in the vehicle, to cut firewood that I get at work.
No odor of fuel in the vehicle.
Zips right through 6-8" oak beams and good battery life.
Bought a Greenworks weed whacker, last year and it's done well.
Next will be a circular saw.
That said, their niche is limited, but, they can be handy.
An electric weed eater costs $600 to equip so it can do the work of a gas model full of gas

Take a look at the flimsy blades they come with. Compare to gas blades, especially the weight. How long will those cookies cutter stamped blades last?
The replacement batteries for cordless models ain’t cheap, either.
And an EV battery has to be changed every three years or sooner, and the cost is $15-20,000. How is that ‘low maintenance’?
I have used a Ryobi battery powered mower for 4 years. Previously it was all gas powered mowers for 25 years.
I am never going back to gas powered mowers again.
The battery mower is lighter, quieter, and no fumes to inhale. If battery runs out, I pop in the spare battery, in 30 seconds. No strings to pull to start, the mower starts by pushing a button. No gas to store in cans, no tune-ups, no changing spark plugs etc. The noise reduction is saving my hearing at age 83. And I can mow when sun goes down with the built-in head lights.
